Adco does it for what? $45

yeah, I'm ahead.

first time, pin is a little lopsided, did the taper ream by hand, went a little deeper than intended.
I got it, now. This was a new green mountain barrel and a BCM block, BRD Dimpler and Gas Block drilling jigs
Practice for the CHF barrel waiting and the Vltor block

Pinning a low profile gas block is overrated if it has set-screws

What's wrong with red loctite?

I have a 3-gun rifle that hasn't come loose after 15k rounds.

I use one of the EDM machines here and fit roll pins. Pinned many FSBs & gas blocks & muzzle devices.

Fuck taper pins. I've used them in the past. Cannot see a single advantage to them considering the pain in the ass they are.

ETA: For a muzzle device that is to be welded I use SS dowel pins.

QFT

That still doesn't stop the more obsessive of us from trying to (pardon the expression) bullet-proof everything.

plain 7018 3/32 welding rod, and my mig welder for the muzzle device pin

I have a straight taper reamer for .1247 on order since 12/4, got tired of waiting, had the taper pins and 2/0 taper reamer

Get both with just a drill press.

I like the welding rod trick. Leave it a little long and save a step or two!

How do you like that Green Mountain barrel? I picked one up with their Black Friday sale but haven't shot it yet.

To each his own, but I've never seen one set screw gas block come loose or move if the barrel was dimpled, and that's not rocket science.

this will be my third GM barrel, never a complaint yet. the 20" 1/12 twist M16A1 barrel shoots XM193 like nothing else. I forget who forcefully suggested I get a 1/12 twist for lighter bullets, but it was great advice.
