I made a very lucky shot at a groundhog with my little Beretta 21A Bobcat.  This guy terrorized our flower garden.  I just pulled into the driveway when I saw him running for cover.  I jumped out and ran after him as he was running into the woods.  The little guy shouldn't have stopped to look back at me before he was going to enter his hole in the ground.  The shot was through the brush about a 125 feet away.  I'd like to take credit for the shot, but it had to be luck.

I've killed several critters with my Glock 19. The most recent was a sick cat at my uncles farm. I also killed a deer with my Glock 20 this year, I carry it sometimes this time of year.

Shot a rattlesnake with my LCP. Shot several deer with my Glock 23. I think I might have shot a deer with my PPK/S years ago, but I can't remember.

Took an AR15 out of my trunk and head shot a deer that had been hit by a car. Both front legs were shattered. Does that count?

I used my everyday ccw, a 10mm 1911, to drop a basket rack buck. I was in a climber tree stand and he was about 40 yards away. He ran about 65 yards and dropped.

Yep. Timber rattle snake on our last hunting trip. We were out at night checking cameras and stands and came across a mean one.

Can only claim a rat that ran from my buddies barn hay barn. G22 that was previously my personally owned duty weapon. One round on the run, not much left of Mr Rat. My buddy still thinks he is a better shot than me because on a one way range he can usually shoot a smaller group. He does not get difference in paper punching and shooting on the run, you or the target.

Not with my current one, but with a couple others.
I shot a jackrabbit with a Kimber Gold Match that was my carry gun at that time.
I shot a...large lizard with a Smith 1066 that was my carry gun at that time.

Hit a deer while riding my KLR650, turned around and finished it off with my Keltec P3AT.
Yeah, survived hitting a deer on a motorcycle and killed a deer with a tiny pocket pistol. Perhaps my best day ever... I lived.

I invoked Rule 1911 paragraph 45 on a dog that would not leave my porch and came at me when I went outside.

It was a Rottweiler mix, about 100 lbs.  Felt bad about it, but I have a 4 and 5 year old.  My risk tolerance for strange snarling dogs on my property in proximity to my front door is therefore zero.

Lots of rabbits.  Sometimes they have been hit once, sometimes they try to hide a little too close for a rifle shot.

Shot a six foot long iguana looking thing that had found its way into my garage once...scared the shit out of me. The weird thing is I decided not to shoot it, and my arms had better ideas...so they shot it while I watched.

Shot a couple of stray dogs attacking my lab.

Nailed them with my G22 using 180gr HSTs.

The first one I popped, turned to look at me and I could literally see the life leave it's body.  It piled up faster than any animal I've ever dispatched, never taking another step or breath, just rolled up dead.

The second one made it a little ways before succumbing to the wound but the HST bullets definitely performed admirably on both strays.

Deer, Coyotes, couple of coons, dogs, every cat I get a clear shot at and other assorted critters when I need to. But I love shooting birds with my Glocks, so much fun.

Popped a number of groundhogs with my Glock 30. Had a GSD for several years. He was a great groundhog hunter. He'd get them by the back of the neck and that was it. His hips began to go as he aged and he slowed down. I never knew a groundhog could climb a tree until I came home one day and he had one treed. He was at the bottom of the tree trying to jump but his old hips wouldn't let him. I pulled up, hopped out of the truck, pulled the G30 and gave him his trophy.

I put down a deer I hit with my car about a year ago (SW99).

To my recollection, that's the only time - although, I have blasted away at a feral cat or two (without success!).

cats are generally pretty shy around people, and when they aren't they're going to be a problem.
cats in the wild are mostly nocturnal, so if you see a bobcat during the day it may very well be rabid.

Finished off a few deer with either a Colt Trooper .357 of a G23. Shot one mad dog and a coyote with the G23. Shot at a few armadillos with the G23 but missed, killed one a month ago with my current EDC, SIG P938 from about 6-7 yards.

I haven't but I know a guy who took a doe at 30 yds with a Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 special just cause it was the only gun in the vehicle when the shot presented and he had his tags in the glovebox with the revolver. Said it dropped in it's tracks.

Twice..

2005 in Central Oregon: 357 magnum (6") at 35 yards, between the eyes, nice buck...missed with first shot, second shot... DRT. Iron sights
2014 up on Mt. Hood, G22 vs. random coyote....about 25 yards, one shot to slow down, finished closer up

Quite often actually, because it's handy when I'm working.

Coyote's, crapload of Possums and Raccons, Several snapping turtles, and oddly a bunch of Woodchucks.
I even nailed a Chipmunk the other day...little bastard has been tearing things up, avoiding the traps, and finally made a fatal mistake.
Old 2nd Gen. G-19's ain't target accurate, but they are accurate enough.

Shot a raccoon that was running up to me one night using my FNS 9. I just missed his head and put the round in his left shoulder. He quickly rethought coming at me and ran off. I stopped using Remington Golden Sabers as my carry rounds that night considering a  coon managed to shake it off. Haven't had the opportunity for another coon testing using Federal HSTs in my G26.

Coons aren't a decent test of Carry ammo.  They will soak up multiple lung/body shots from whatever pistol, and keep on wandering around.  If you want a one shot stop/kill, hit the CNS or use a goose load at close range to scatter  their innards.

My PPS 9mm, glock 19 and 1911TRP have all been used on critters.  Porcupines and a few coons up at my cabin and LOTS of deer that have been hit by cars. I've been deer hunting maybe twice in the last three years, but there's always meat in the freezer.

I killed a coon that wouldnt keep off my porch last week. 20 pounder, rolled the bastard while it was trying to run. 4 shots to stop it. I hit it here and there, the last shot cut its spine in two between the shoulder blades. I used old bulk federal  govt contract hollow point 115 grain +p in a Glock 19 Gen4.

One of the bullets went through the coon, ricocheted and knocked a hole in one of my ash buckets.

I have shot several animals with pistols over the years.

iv taught my daughters mean assed cat what a gun was.... i used to shoot the shit out of it with a airsoft gun.

eventually you could just pick up any handgun and it ran like hell...  it honestly was a game to the cat, but it could reconize a gun , and KNEW it = trouble.

Old lady clipped a deer, I dispatched him while he was spinning himself around on the asphalt with the 1911 with hydo shocks. I actually got a thank you for my trouble. Sad part it was a beautiful 8 point, and the only one I got to kill this season.
