If you strongly suspected that a serious shortage of ARs and parts was imminent, what do you think you would need to buy? Select all that apply.

I have 10 ARs and only one of me so I guess I'm in good shape, but I would like another LPK or two.

I have a life time supply of ARs and parts. I am stocking up on ammo, I only have about 11k rounds of 556/223.

No, I have a bigger BOV.

I have complete rifles but not many parts. Every time I get a lower I end up wanting to complete it which ends up consuming the spare parts I had bought.

Only...

Dude, don't be that guy. 11k rounds is nothing to sneeze at for an individual, but I think you already knew that. I'm sitting at somewhere between 8-9k, and do I want more? Yes, of course, but to say I "only" have 8-9k when the vast majority of gun owners have nowhere near that much would be ridiculous, almost like I was trying to say "Hey everyone, look how cool and edgy I am with my ammo stash standards."

11k is nothing being a consumable resource. If an AR is good for 25k-30k rounds and you have multiple AR's, you need the 25k per rifle, at least.
Or a good rule of thumb for zombies is 2rds per person in your AO, city size or county size As a start. 3rds would be better.

This. In the last twenty years I have purchased/reloaded perhaps 100K rounds. I have shot most of that in training and competition.

Skill cannot be confiscated. When you have to move, it doesn't add to your load.

Knowledge.  I don't know crap about installing stuff. Like a trigger or a LPK. I'm not a handy man. I know jack shit about such things. All I can do is take a BCG apart and put it back together.  I don't even know how to take the handguards off. Don't even know if that's the correct term. If I knew more, I'd get more. I'm an idiot. Trying to learn. Just seems easier to have more rifles.

I need more spare parts. A complete rifle would probably be a more sensible way to go, just to have a whole spare rifle, but I should probably pick up a couple LPK's and maybe a bolt or two

Oh yes, and I get what you are saying. However, unless you're not planning on buying ammo anymore, 11k is a great "base stash", IMO.

I have a bunch of parts that just need to be put together to make complete rifles. I guess you could say I'm short on labor. Other than that, ammo. Everything else I need isn't really considered ban worthy. Stuff like sights, lights, and optics.

I want a PMag D 60 drum mag or two. They are out of stock and on backorder at every major retailer I have looked at. Too late.

Some more lowers would be nice for future projects, like a 6.5 or 300 blackout build. AR lowers seem scarce or more expensive now too. $70 for a a cheap one online, no more bargains on Anderson or Palmetto lowers lately.

It's interesting that some parts that are required for a build, like barrels and upper receivers, were selected far less often than some other parts.  Since it seems unlikely that a lot of people have a bunch of extra barrels lying around, it looks like people would buy things that would be the first to completely disappear, and/or buy lower cost items that could be resold for a profit.

BCGs, barrels, and mags.

As I write this, my wife is sitting next to me and I believe she cringes knowing that there is a shelf full of lower/upper sets that could use barrels and BCGs, which lead to handguards, and muzzle devices.

I have a feeling this kind of investment is going to be good in about 8 months.

small parts that aren't LPK parts. I've got 3-4 spare LPK but need to stock stuff like extractors and springs etc. I've been adding a few in stock small parts on recent orders. Got 21 gas rings with my last PA order for example.

Large parts like lowers, stocks, rails and uppers turn into complete guns
