If the political stance were known of the majority of bands that we listened to, many of us would own 1/3 - 1/2  the music we do now.

It sucks that so many musicians and Hollywood type are stupid fucking liberals. Makes it hard to enjoy music or tv/movies.

Quite possibly one of the worst bands ever, and I remember them when they were nobodies and actually had one or two decent funk songs.

Maybe even 1/5 - 1/4. Honestly. Let's see... Metallica, Ted Nugent, ZZ Top... There's a few others.

I could probably rattle off 50 liberal bands. It's ridiculous.

Yep, It's tough here in the PNW and Ca influenced music. Honestly not a requirement for me to know a band's political belief. I've seen the Chili Peppers twice and would see them again, even in my mid 40s

Do their lawyers and record label(s) agree?

For the record, I don't really care either way.  I just think it's funny when ultra-liberal musicians/actors get upset when people pirate their products.

Their live shows are legendarily horrible, but they put out some decent music when John Frusciante was the guitarist.

I've seen them once and I'll probably still listen to a few of their songs on streaming sights. I am not someone who can eliminate a band or actor based on political belief. There is too much good media out there to let politics dictate what I do. Do these people eliminate restaurants who's owners are liberals? Hotel chains? It just doesn't seem feasible.

Def people that do eliminate the Costco's, Wal-Mart's, Hyatt's, etc. I will support a business for a pro Constitutional stance before I would an anti and I make an effort not to not support those openly against 2A.
I can not imagine basing decisions on the furniture I sit, autos I drive, clothes I wear, my consumables, paint on my walls, food I eat, etc., on the political views of corporate ownership.

Huge Chili Peppers fan.

I'd expect no less.  Ultimately who cares.  They're clowns I pay $50 to get drunk and watch dance around with friends.

ETA: If you get your political information from a rock band you're too dumb to let things like economics or constitutional rights sway you.

Woah, Chuck D - preach it!

CHUCK D, PUBLIC ENEMY ”The big record companies ran to the government like a bunch of p—ies. Here’s an industry that once prided itself on basking in the enthusiasm of its fans. Now that the fans have gotten ahold of the technology first, you’re seeing its real colors…. Stopping the process of file sharing is like trying to control the rain.”
