I’ve been considering buying one at the end of this year but all I see are beat to shit cooktops that stick food. I’m not convinced outdoor griddles of stainless steel are any better alternative to a cast iron griddle over a burner or fire.

That's a blast from the past. Lol

That was a sheep that barely lived long enough to piss in the truck. We grabbed him away from his mom, banded his tail and testicles and gave him a vaccine for something or other and he literally just gave up on life. I swear I identified the moment it happened. He was fine before we grabbed him, dead two days later.

I was told, but didn't believe it at the time that sheep are born looking for a place to die. I believe it now, at least in the desert. Lol

You’ve never lived until you’ve had these fuckers flying closer than arms length away.

Tarantula hawk wasps are relatively docile and rarely sting without provocation. However, the sting—particularly that of P. grossa—is among the most painful of all insects, though the intense pain only lasts about five minutes.[10] One researcher described the pain as "...immediate, excruciating, unrelenting pain that simply shuts down one's ability to do anything, except scream. Mental discipline simply does not work in these situations."[7] In terms of scale, the wasp's sting is rated near the top of the Schmidt sting pain index, second only to that of the bullet ant, and is described by Schmidt as "blinding, fierce[, and] shockingly electric".[2]

Add to that the average age of our staff is very low. Dressing the part adds to the clients' confidence. If they saw khakis, they might think they were at target.

We had a client call in about his matter, his wife was using a big downtown firm, probably charging four times more than us. Our client was also an attorney. He was furious because when they went downtown to sign papers for his wife, her attorney showed up in ripped jeans and a t-shirt. "Seriously? This is how little you think of my wife's business, you couldn't even put on appropriate clothes?!" We assured him that even though he couldn't see us, we were wearing suits for the phone call.

It is a topic that has been addressed in a number of issues of the Wisconsin State Bar magazine as well. It detracts from the profession as a whole.

Not an invalid position.

I once received a phone call, “Hey where are you at right now?” Me: I’m in town. “Ok, can you be at the federal courthouse in 20 minutes?” Me: [raising my eyebrows knowing the standard of dress] Uh, my suit is 800 miles away. “Don’t worry about that, just be there.” Me: Okee dokee.

Literally me in the courtroom:

Here's what I've come up with so far. I may change up the insert material but it's a start. I'm also thinking of removing the "grip holes" in the insert. They look big but any smaller and finger tips can't get in there so I may just eliminate them and let the buyer turn the box over to get the knife out.
https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/59685/Photo_Apr_28_2024__5_24_12_PM_jpg-3202810.JPG

I've also been working on replacement handle scale designs for some inexpensive Cold Steel knives that will be made from much nicer materials than the molded plastic and will allow the use of the Spyderco standard wire clip on either side. It was a project thought up by a friend and given to me to bring to life. I will likely machine out a few sets over the next week or two.

Very cool to watch your progress.

May I humbly submit my opinion for your consideration - please do not cut left hand pocket clips unless specifically requested by customers.

There is nothing worse than buying aftermarket scales as a right hand knife user and finding the left side scales cut for societal outcasts.

Even Magnacut would be great to fit Emerson's "Hard Use" slogan. It's a tough steel that's easy to sharpen.

Moving to Emerson, Ernie does ergo's REALLY good for my hands.
I just dislike sharpening recurve blades.

I need to just man up and get over it.
I've been looking for a cheap recurve knife that I can practice on without feeling bad if I knarf it up and turn it into a seax...

I still have a Traveler that has slight lock rock that I haven't figured out what to do with.

But I haven't found a newer Emerson production knife that would kick the ZT620 out of my pocket.
