We all know about the mutiny on the Bounty, yes? What is less well-known is the journey of Captain Bligh and the others who remained loyal to him after the mutiny. Nineteen men and some supplies in a 23 foot open boat with about 7 inches of freeboard...and Bligh captained them for 3500 miles to safety, losing only one man, who sacrificed himself so that the others could escape. The St. Louis Arch has foundations sunken 60 feet into the ground, and is built to withstand earthquakes and high winds. It sways up to one inch in a 20 mph wind, and is built to sway up to 18 inches.

And then how we learn from our fuck ups.
