[medical nerd]
Correct. And the image in OP is either a plain film single X-Ray image or the scout film from a CT scan.

You would do that to get more resolution.

But I think there's something fucky.  The AR has a single stack mag and the hammer is above the sear meaning it's either firing or bullshit.

Looks like a 6920, but the bolt carrier is semi.
Rounds in the magazine look fucky, like it's not a double stack.
There is a round chambered and the weapon is not on safe.

Second look, it could be an LMT.
I think they ship with an Ergo grip and a semi carrier.

MRI
That's not a CT. The scatter would make the image impossible to distinguish as a firearm. That's like an industrial grade x-ray.

ETA: I guess it could be a scout, but I'd be surprised ifit could get that much detail.

It does look like a gantry table...

I wish I could use a CAT scan/xray/ what ever the hell will give you a pic like in the op,  for a day and scan a bunch of engine parts into it to see if you could tell if there were stress cracks or anything like that.

What do you mean? The front of the trigger appears to be firmly in the hammer notch.

That's not how the trigger engages the hammer.

Re the single stack mag it looks like they've loaded the mag with alternate actual rounds and plastic dummy rounds to make the magazine look less cluttered. Here's one where they didn't and it looks pretty messy.

Actually, that is a topogram.  A radiograph taken in a CT scanner.

The table actually moves during the scan.  Then you can highlight the area you want for the actual computed tomography.

So it's an X-ray.

Taken in a CT scanner.

Or a could be a CT topogram taken in a PET scanner.

You are correct.

And that is just a simple X-ray, NOT a CAT scan. It is a VERY NICE X-ray, to be fair.

Of course, if it was a Glock 7, nothing would show up.

The right side of the screen is the topogram, the left side is the CT slices.
