Why aren't you in the gym ?

I figured this could be a thread for people to discuss anything gym related, supplements, training and other shit.

and if you choose to, make excuses on why you dont work out regularly ( cardio or lifting )

I've been slaughtered the past week with work and personal/family shit to handle.

I haven't lifted in almost 7 days.  I am lifting tomorrow; blocked out time to do it.

I *hate* when things pour down and my time to lift is intruded upon.

Neither of my grandfathers exercised, one lived until he was 96, the other until 91.
One grandmother lived until she was 86, the other is closing in on 95 and neither exercised.
One great grandmother lived until 103, the other was 100, and neither exercised, well not since they left the farms
when they were young.

Meanwhile my marathon running gym teacher died in his early thirties.

I'll roll the dice on the whole exercise thing at this point in life.

I think this also and then think of the rigors daily life brought to your grandparents. Just existing probably was alot more exercise than going to a gym daily.

I think this also and then think of the rigors daily life brought to your grandparents. Just existing probably was alot more exercise than going to a gym daily.

I started stronglifts 5X5 about a month ago.  I work  rotating 12 hour shifts so making it to the gym is a bitch.  I do cardio on the elliptical each time.  The weight is slowly coming off.  Cut out the sweet tea. Snd the 2 snickers a day habit.

My squat technique isn't quite there yet (still doing really light weights with SL5X5) so I will putz around every now and then with heavy weights on the leg press machine:

I worked out in my outdoor gym, starting out in the garden this morning then will plant some trees next then work on a rock wall and finish the day with spreading 3,000 lbs of mulch.  Nothing like an 8-10 hr workout to get the blood pumping
