http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/ar-15-maker-pours-150000-into-anti-hillary-pro-gun-campaign/article/2597669

A popular firearms company that makes AR-15-style rifles has donated an eye-popping $150,000 to the arms industry's "#GunVote" campaign to stop Democrat Hillary Clinton and liberal gun control measures.

O.F. Mossberg & Sons Inc. put its support in the campaign headed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation which heads the campaign.

I don't recollect ever seeing a Mossberg AR15. Do they manufacture under some other brand or what?

They used to offer some 6920 style rifles as well, but it looks like these new/coming soon ones are what they offer now.

I'm surprised that the firearms companies haven't donated 150 million to anti Hillary ads.

Ok, lets see here.. shotgun, shotgun, shotgun, rifle, shotgun, rifle, shoutgu... HEY AN AR15!

Mossberg is a real-life example of just how popular black rifles are as compared to when Bill Clinton was president.

In 1994 when the AW ban passed they only made shotguns.  Today they make an AR as well.

Similarly, in 1994 Smith and Wesson made handguns.  Today they make ARs as well.

But most of all, in 1994 Sturm, Ruger & Co. made the Mini 14, refused to sell hi-capacity mags for any of their guns, and their owner supported the AW Ban.  Now they make several types of ARs, in addition to their Minis, and they sell hi-cap mags direct to the public.  And their owner is dead, along with his support of gun control.

For gun owners, it truly is a different world from 25 years ago.

This reporting is horse shit... Mossberg makes three models of AR but over 20 models of shotguns... and suddenly they are reported to be an evil AR-15 manufacturer.

To hell with you, liberal media.

Sounds like it might be $150,000 marketing campaign for new lineup rather than sincere 2a support?

This.

If you're really wanting to show Mossberg some love, the products I'd suggest are the 930 JM (one of the best values in semi-auto comp shotguns), the 464 .30-30 in walnut #41020 (maybe the best new production .30-30 lever guns on the market today), and the Patriot Walnut (want a centerfire bolt action with a wood stock that's not priced at a premium? This is probably your only option.).

Meh.

Congrats on 200 years. It's a real shame what FG has done to Rem and all other companies they have taken.

I bought what I mistakenly thought were new old stock 870's, a walnut 870P. At least one review claimed their gun dated from like 1995 or so, so I took a shot. I ended up with a brand new 2016 model 870P. It's no match for my old Wingmaster traps, but better than the Express garbage I am seeing in stores. Much better.

Just not sure what the above link has to do with Mossberg.

The big ones (the ones that matter) that compete for federal contracts will probably stay out of it. No major DOD contractor wants retribution if HRC gets elected.

We recently purchased a used mossberg lever action and it's a decent lever gun, model 579.  Near as I can figure it was a store gun that came with a 3x scope.  Heavy thing but fun to shoot.  May have to snag a 464 just for the fun, although I need another 30WCF like I need a hole in the head.

I don't know Mossberg's financials but as most everything they sell is in the lower priced range I'm guessing their margins are lower than Remington or Ruger.

Also, mossberg moved the majority of their production out of Connecticut after they passed their law.  So this company not only talks the talk, they walk the walk.  I'm impressed.
