I’m looking for a body shop guy who does side work that can fix & paint some fiberglass body panels for a friend and I.Two cars. Six panels. I have a small repair to make on mine but would like to get it painted the darker BMW blue color. Do you guy’s know anyone around the Frisco area? I live in Scottsdale but keep my car in TX so it’s hard to find anyone via word of mouth without being in Tx.

Blue color

Race car

Have you ventured into Corner Carvers to try and find a recommendation?  A lot of the active racers there seem to be from TX.

Find any place that does boat work . I used to work for Owens Corning . You can do it yourself . Repairing is not that hard , painting is another issue

A regular paint job is what I’m looking for. Just like you’re painting a vette. You only use gel coat when the panel is new out of the mold. I could do it myself but all my tools are in AZ & CA.

LOL! I’d have my cousin paint them in Torrance but it would cost me a fortune to ship the panels back and fourth.

I found an Earl Scheib in Dallas. This kind of job is hard to find when you’re an out of towner.

For what you are going to pay someone, the tools will be cheaper.

Stuart's Paint & Body in Dallas... they are $$$$, but their work is outstanding. Plus you can see some really sweet cars when you go by there.

I would offer to do it for you but I don't have time or space for a car.

ETA - I do paint sprint car parts for a neighbor down the street from time to time.

Sounds too rapey. I’m gonna go wheel to wheel with 30-40 other animals fighting to get to turn 1 first. It’s not worth it to over do it on a paint job.

Here’s a video from Hallett.

I would go to HF and pick up what I needed, rent a compressor and a paint gun and do it myself under a tent if need be.
Grind out the glass and fill it with long strand Dynaglass and use tape to hold it in place until it cures. Once it does just block sand that bitch down and shape it with a 20 dollar B&D orbital sander.

It's a RACE car not a show car.

Hey now! I can bring you the body panels (off the car) to you in two weeks when I’m out there. If you have room for a 20 ft. Box trailer we can leave the panels in the trailer to keep them out of your way. I won’t need the panels back until the end of September.

I'm on an airport so there is no room for a trailer. How big are the panels? How many?

Front panel, mid panel and tail. Two cars so six panels. All fiberglass. One set would fit in the back of a short bed pick up. The cars are 12 feet long.

Here’s a pic of a rear and mid panel off a car.

Underneath front panel.
