Semi Mandela effect

I don't remember him dying, but I had no idea Don Rickles was still alive.

The same was true of Chuck Berry, Who knew he wasn't dead.

Or Barry Manilow announcing he is gay.  He never admitted that before now?

I saw him and Joan Rivers in a live show many years ago. Probably one of the best shows I've ever seen. Not what I expected. They did their normal bits but also sang and danced. Complete entertainers.

I also remember him on Carson. One of the best and will be missed.

RIP Mr. Rickles you were truly great.  Saw him 6 months or so ago on Kimmel and still sharp and funny as heck.  I loved the "maybe he's a Republican" line in Kelly's Hero's, such a classic.

If I was a talented artist, I'd have a mural made of him being embraced by his friends in heaven, with a stage in front and it'd look like a heavenly roast...

My favorite.
Funniest comic that ever lived. Saw him live at least a dozen time and was honored he once made fun of me

True story, we were ring side at a show in vegas with another couple, he focuses on out table and starts with the other guys wife:
you got to be a jewish princess, it is 95° outside and you are wearing fur.
without missing a beat he turns the guy and says if her father dies, what kind of business are you unemployed from?
Turns to me and says you look italian, right, I nod yes, and he says sure this scmuck has anice suit but his undershirt has spagetti sauces stains,
Then he turns to my wife and stares and says sheriff know working the strip again.

I almost pissed my self I laughed so hard.

My Father liked Don Rickles, and and of course, Johnny Carson.   He was born in 1925, and has outlived them both.
I'm seeing Dad for dinner at his home tonight.  You can bet I will hug Pops extra well and tell him how glad he's still with us!

First time Rickles was working a club when Sinatra walked in. He sees Sinatra from the stage and hollers at him, "Hey, Frank! Make yourself at home. Hit somebody!"

Legend has it Sinatra rolled with laughter & they were friends ever since. In fact, when Sinatra was asked to perform at Reagan's Inaugural dinner, he agreed ONLY if Rickles could perform as well.

What was so funny to me was how Rickles would rag on Sinatra about his Mafia connections and catch no shit about it.

"I thought that guy would never die...."
