I've got nothing on my plate today and I seldom take a drink before noon.

Am I the only one who has taken a drink in the AM?

Thought about it a few times but couldn't bring myself to it. I never drink on a work day. Usually wont take a sip until 5ish. However, when football season starts I will drink at 11am since college game day comes on. That's my early morning excuse.

Go for it. As long as it doesn't become a habit.
I usually only do it on holidays like Christmas with mimosas or bloody Mary's
Or in Vegas

Actually, it's been several weeks since I even had a beer. I'm way past the point of making it a habit. That seems to come with ~~wisdom~~ age.

While I haven't done it in decades, I used to put maybe a tablespoon of cognac into my morning coffee for the aroma, especially when I was out commercial fishing in cold weather.

my phone autocorrected "Going for my morning run" to " Going for my morning Rum". Change of plans, boys!

I'll drink before noon but I know full well it will kill the whole day for me. not much getting accomplished besides maybe a nap and some tv. No power tools or home projects. I don't make it a habit but morning drinking can be the best drinking!

Artificial Irish cream, hazelnut, or any of the other syrups and flavorings that people use, are awful, sugary impostors of the real thing.

You're talking about a tiny fraction of one drink. Just use the real thing, and it'll taste 10x better.

I mean, I enjoy my coffee black, but if I were so inclined, I wouldn't let something as stupid as social convention stop me from enjoying my coffee the way I wanted.

I don't drink and work either. That said, one of my favorite weekend eye-openers is Earl Grey tea brewed really strong, served heavy with cream and sugar and a shot of vodka. Fucking delicious.

I've worked from home for about 7 years, so nobody would know unless I was really schnockered. Got no particular aversion to drinking in the morning, but I have some sort of built-in aversion to drinking during working hours. Even during the 3 months I was laid off, it just didn't feel right to deviate from that. Probably upbringing-related.

But I've never been much of a drinker anyway. It's more amusing to hear stories about others getting sloshed and their crazy antics.
