I had a standard version in .308. Great gun. Almost too pretty to drag around in the woods. A real bitch to clean compared to any bolt action or even a Marlin and that's why it went down the road.

Tactical schmactical...meh if it floats your boat. Do some research on cleaning before you buy.

Can King Cuomo ban that via royal edict? I'd buy one just to have it.

Why do they always think if a little is good a lot is better?

Browning Stalker finish. Thread the barrel. Add a short rail to the receiver.  Full stop.  That would have been neat, but they went full retard.

$1,600 MSRP... lol.

I bet the first one of those I lay eyes on in either a youtube video or a facebook post will have a 8-32x60 scope on it with the mounts bridging the barrel and receiver.

That thing is atrocious....

This is what a BLR should look like. Steel receiver in 308.

Few years back my buddy tried to get Lew Bonitz to build him a scout version of a Winchester 1895 in 30-06. He already owned two Grizzly guns a Marlin Guide and an 1894 in .357. Lew wouldn't do it though wanted to stick to Marlins.

No, just no.  Took a BLR to a rifle course once- the magazines have tight tolerances, and a little grit under the front tab would keep the mag from seating deeply enough for rounds to feed into the chamber.  In fact, the FMJ tips would wedge under the feed ramp and completely lock up the action.  The ejection port is too small to get much of a finger or knife blade in to drag the round back, so I resorted to pogoing the action to back out the round.  This worked the first 4-5 times I did it, but the next time after that it caused the bolt to jump teeth on the pinion so that it wouldn't go into battery.

I called the factory to find out how to fix this, and they told me to send it in.  End result- they fixed it, but told me what I described was impossible and called me a liar.  I haven't even looked at a Browning product since.

Do not buy a BLR for any serious use.

My buddy has one in 7mm-08. I kind of like the regular railed one with the traditional stock, looks wise anyway. Probably too low for optics on a rail

I just do not see the BLR being a good platform for a scout rifle.

I have carried this one many times as you can see by looking at the sling, but I have never had
any issues of reliability. It is not a course gun.

Rebarrel in .300BO and SBR to a 9" barrel

Take downs were cool when we had a few guys building SBRs and SBSs out of classic C&R take downs. It's played out now.

I don't know.  That Monte Carlo stock looks a little bit torquey.  You might get all twisted up in that thing.
