As long as the RKBA version they hold includes a right to self defense, I'm ok.
 But how would (for instance) voting for Hillary or Bernie have squared with being a Democrat in favor of gun rights? I realize they can be found on the local level and might allow them the illusion of being personal freedom advocates where the opposition is a conservative anti-abortion type. On the national scene that's a rare bird.
