Let us never forget, government has no resources of its own. Government can only give to us what it has previously taken from us.

Nashville high school students that were crying outside the Tennessee legislature, this week, had me laughing at their drama queen antics. The high school students at the Tennessee legislature had pre-school level acting. One of them had a list she read off of things she shouldn't have to put up with. One of them was "being told to run zig-zag in the school hallway to avoid being shot", and all I could think of was The In-Laws (1979): Getting off the plane in Tijuara Another tried something of an 'in-your-face' approach with one of the news cameras and started threatening the members of the legislature, pointing out that it wouldn't be long before her and her group were old enough to vote, and that they would remember this week and vote out every one of them. I laughed and I do wish her luck in that endeavor, since the election for those legislative seats is about six months away, and she and her group are from a public high school in downtown Nashville, which means they are all residents of Davidson county, and every member of the Tennessee legislature from Davidson county is a useless moron with a (D) by their name, and they not only voted against the legislation that these twits were crying about, but openly opposed it, tried to kill it in committee, tried to prevent it from coming to a floor vote before the end of the session, and even tried to amend it in a way that could provide an opportunity to challenge the validity of the law in the courts. The sad thing is that their high school is supposed to be an academic magnet school with high academic standards for retention (let your grades drop, and they send you back to the unwashed masses in the rest of the school district). My daughter graduated from there and she was embarrassed by their moronic chants from earlier in the week, when they hadn't been as emotional as they got toward the end of the week. |

View Quote A couple weeks ago, two mothers from the Nashville group (they apparently could only find two to make it to the legislature and depended on high school students and people from somewhere else to pad their numbers to a couple dozen) were giving an interview after the senate passed a bill that they were "shocked and horrified" over. They complained that members of the legislature refused to work with them, because it is an election year. A reporter asked them what they wanted passed, instead of the bill that they were clearly opposed to. The reply was "no comment". At the beginning of this week, one of the mothers from the Nashville group presented the legislature with petitions with 5,000 signatures, claiming that this was proof that Tennesseans did not support this legislation. If I did the math correctly, their signatures (if they really are from residents of Tennessee) represents seven hundredths of a percent of the state population. It's all about the very, very amateurish drama. |

Was it the Occupy movement that started this idiocy of leftist protest camps? The Occupy group was doing it, then we saw the CHAD/CHAZ or whatever it was, and now the pro-Hamas camps on college campuses. And probably some that I am currently forgetting about. I saw where some leftists in Texas are starting a good, old-fashioned hunger strike to protest... something. Those were the good old days... Leftists protesting something by inflicting harm on themselves, in the hopes that we would be shocked by it and correct the error of our ways in order to get them to stop hurting themselves. |
