You know, seems to me that when I was deemed an "expert" in court I went through a fairly lengthy voir dire process, getting asked in depth questions by both prosecution and defense before being "blessed" by the Judge. This so called expert would never survive that process, lol.

Considering my insurance lawyer had 2 weeks to reply to the bad guys MSJ opposition.....I think they forgot about me.

We were granted leave for a do-over and the reply to the bad guys opposition was accepted by the court.
It can be read here I'm happy with it. I'm glad to see the bad guys were called out on their bullshit comparisons of other lawsuits that aren't comparable. |

It looks like the 17th of April is going to be a big day. Apparently the courts can schedule a mandatory settlement meeting. We don't have to settle, but have to go through the motions with the judge. What a load of crap this system is. Seems like the settlement meeting is the lawyers and the claims adjuster. The courts know this is just a game and have nonsense events like this built in. If there is a settlement meeting with the judge, the only people that should be in the room are the Judge, Plaintiff and Defendant. If the Plaintiff demanded a jury trial in the suit, the Plaintiff shouldn't be allowed to even be allowed to say the word settlement.
A settlement meeting shouldn't be anything more than the Judge asking the defendant if they want to settle. If the defendant says no, the Judge should say OK, and tell the Plaintiff they are getting the trial they asked for. |
