Well the afternoon has gone like this:
2 Seniors 1 lift 1 gal of purple paint _____________________ =spill of half gal of paint, 1 hr of clean up, 1 purple arm, many very purple hands, purple shoes, purple pants, 2 rolls of paper towels, 1 spray bottle of cleaner, 3 volunteers to help the purple seniors. Oh, and the Mars tractor just blew a rear belt wheel. |

Not sure we are going to get to texture on the castle today. We have it all set up, but we noticed we are missing a few tiles on the tower bottoms, and need to get those up there.

WYOMING JUNIOR DUCK STAMP WINNERS FOR 2024 The 2024 Wyoming Junior Duck Stamp Competition was judged in Jackson, WY on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Community judges with experience in art, birding, and ecology, decided on the State and Jackson Hole winners. In total, 126 entries from Wyoming students in kindergarten up to 12th grade were judged on the basis of original design, anatomical accuracy, and artistic composition. Copies of the winning artwork will be exhibited around the state. A schedule of the Wyoming state tour will be available soon at https://www.fws.gov/refuge/national-elk. The winners of the Jr. Duck Stamp contest will also be part of an online exhibit on our regional Flickr site, https://www.flickr.com/photos/usfwsmtnprairie/albums. This educational program uses both science and art principles to teach wetland habitat and waterfowl biology to students in kindergarten through high school. The art contest provides an opportunity for students to artistically express their knowledge of the diversity and beauty of waterfowl and their habitat. https://i.imgur.com/7P1FqiG.jpg Wyoming’s 2024 Best of Show artwork, pictured below, is an oil rendition of hooded mergansers, titled “Mated Hooded Mergansers” by Sophia Petrie of Powell, WY. Students can also include a “conservation message” with their art, which summarizes what they learned through the program. Liberty Araas of Cheyenne, WY submitted this year’s winning conservation message: “Water is life; pure, pristine, perfect life. Water is conservation. Conservation is life.” Sophia’s rendition of the mergansers and Liberty Araas’s conservation message both advanced to represent Wyoming at the 2024 National Federal Junior Duck Stamp Contest which will be judged on Friday, April 19th, 2024. The new Junior Duck Stamp will be released in June of 2024 and will be available for $5 at www.duckstamp.com as well as from some U.S. Postal Service locations, National Wildlife Refuges, and through the Amplex Corporation. Proceeds from the sale of the stamps support conservation education and provide prizes, awards and scholarships for students participating in the Junior Duck Stamp Program. https://i.imgur.com/UNYNrCy.png https://i.imgur.com/y76h3FZ.png Are they going to boot Powell Art from that contest too now? |
