12750 YTD.

13000 tomorrow.  That'll leave me 11 days to get to 15,000, which is less than 200/day.

15000 in 3 months puts me at 60k by year's end, which is higher than my goal.

Feel better Crusty. Your body probably needs the break anyway. Good to give it a rest once in a while so you can heal. Get some rest and get back after it when you can.

15,000 by the end of March puts me on pace for 60k.

Speaking of discipline,  I had zero motivation tonight.  Had less than zero desire to do pushups. Long hard day at work, followed by hours of thankless tasks around the house.  Didn't want to work out tonight. Not one bit. Seemed like a great night to take off. Except for one thing....

I made a commitment. And that matters.

510 pushups for today.
29,310 YTD.

Also did some squats, and 100 bicep curls.

Time for some earned protein, water, and rest.

Wednesday, got a few people from work to commit to doing a Murph so I'm going to be focusing my workouts on hitting that goal for the next two months. Total of 600 push ups today, 3 mile walk/run, alternating every .5 mile.  5 sets of 7 reps pull ups, 300 air squats and about 45 mins of lifting.

Keep Grinding

Good on ya, fellas.

50 today, 100 WTD, 410 MTD, 1200 YTD

Seems to be getting easier finally. I dunno if I should do 11-12 rep sets or just try doing 10 faster. Get both?

It definitely gets easier, and it's great to see this happening for you!

As hard as it is, just try to add '1 more' as often as you can.  If you think you can do 10, try to get to 11. Do that as much as possible.

1 more will eventually become 5 more. And then 10 more. And before you know it, you break through the previous barriers.

Just stay consistent...that is the true cheat code in all of this. Keep after it and it will keep getting easier

You have made great progress...keep after it!

Thursday-  I got a few people I work with on the Murph challenge so I'm shifting my nightly work outs to be geared toward finishing this event on Memorial Day.

500 push ups, 3 miles, I ran 1st and 3rd mile instead of my normal walk.

5x5 pulls ups

5x5 chin ups

10x 30 air squats.

Keep Grinding.

Appreciate you setting the bar for the murph....I'm starting to think I bit off more than I can chew, but I'm going to give it my best shot. It's the least I can do on Memorial day to show some respect.

My pull-up rack gets here next week. That gives me about 2 months to go from being able to do 0 pull ups to 100. Funny thing is, now I'm more concerned about those damn squats

I am trying to rest/rehab my.left knee, so I haven't been running or doing anything ballistic.  I have today off from work, so I did a garage workout.

20 squats (50lb bag on shoulders)
50 Push-ups
Rest

Each section was 1 minutes and I did that for 10 rounds.  It was ok, but man, I am itching to run.

To make up for my 0 day on Wednesday, I did 10x30 over 10 minutes afterwards to keep my average up.

Looking forward to your 30k post later!

Edit - I see above where you already broke it!

Air squats seem easy until you try to keep good depth and a solid pace.  Your diaphragm spends a lot of time crunched a little.

I think it was discussed early on, but do any of you see/feel a difference between pushing with palms vs knuckles?

Knuckles feels easier to me. I guess it changes the angle just enough to use different muscles like sit-ups vs crunches.

For me it's strictly been heels of my palms. Almost zero pressure on my fingers. I try to carry as much weight on my skeleton as possible and minimize pressure on tissue...helps isolate the chest and triceps. Good form is definitely the key to higher reps and better development. Ergonomics above all else. Your body will thank you later.

Did another 400 tonight, finishing the day at 650. 30,460 YTD.

Supposed to have torrential downpour rain here tomorrow and in the high 40's. Sounds like a lovely morning for a run.

Will do a little Goggins style workout in the elements...see how cold and wet I can get.

Will get 31k this weekend...maybe tomorrow if nothing gets in the way.

I bet the squats get easy pretty fast.  The pull ups seem to be everyone's kryptonite. I do them regularly but am going to have to really push myself to get up to 10x10, especially in the vest.

Haha.  Yeah...I guess that reads funny.  It's twisting motions and quick direction changes that aggravate it.  The fact it gets better over several days until I re-aggravate it gives me hope it is healing without further intervention.  I am also hoping keeping the quads working will strengthen the knee.

The reality is that I am not sure what I am doing.  I just enjoy...doing.

It engages differently...not sure how.

I find Push-ups easier with palms and also focusing on gripping the floor with all of my fingers.  Sometimes I adjust width of my hands and angles of my elbows to my torso to engage pecs, triceps, lats...

The first tenth of a mile I was like, 'what the hell am I doing'. By the end of the run I was just loving it.  Saw another runner out there on the road...the two of us just laughed as we passed each other.

That's when you know you are on the path.  It's so easy to find an excuse not to get in that run, or that work out, but when you revel in getting the work in no matter the conditions, you are winning.
