I just renewed a WA permit. New online system with the county, filled it out in 10 minutes, paid my money, and had a fresh new permit arrive in about 5 days. It was amazing…. |

March 26th Attention all Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) holders: Attorney General Jason Miyares has just delivered a crucial clarification regarding CHP renewals. Some judges in Virginia have been misinterpreting the law, insisting that individuals renewing their CHP must provide proof of "in person" training. This requirement has caused headaches for many, especially those who no longer possess their original training certificate or whose certificate fails to specify the type of class attended. But fear not! The Attorney General has officially set the record straight: there is NO mandate to demonstrate prior in-person training when renewing your CHP. However, even if some obscure code prevents that, it would serve as a case for others. If they can do this to me, they can do it to any Virginian. Even if I take the financial L, we will have case law. I fully expect it to be issued, but if it is not, I will take any and all legal avenues available to me. I will not stop and I do not care about the financial consequences.
