Lots of female singers have great control of their pitch, but their enunciation is so poor that I can only understand about a third or less of the words to whatever they are singing. Like listening to someone sing with a mouth full of marbles and a gag over their mouth.
If I can't understand what they are singing, I automatically discard them as potential "best" vocalists. It is unfortunate that this discards the vast majority of both female and male vocalists. It takes far more control to be both on pitch AND enunciate well enough that people can actually understand the words to whatever they are singing. |

It was weird hearing my teenage daughter listening to "Murder on the Dancefloor" earlier this year. |
