I have a 457 Varmint that was fantastic out of the box. After dropping in a Timney and putting it in a KRG stock it has become one of my favorite rifles.

Also, while CZ uses Turkish walnut, the rifles themselves are made in the Czech Republic.

I prefer the 457 myself. Adjustable trigger that can be dropped to under a pound pull with a little spring change. Swap to 17HMR, 22mag or 22LR with a simple barrel and mag change. Second only to the 10/22 for available goodies in the aftermarket. Mine have begun to multiply in the safe.

How long is that barrel?
I have a 455 UL with a 28.5" barrel too.
Do not shoot 60 grain subs since it won't make it down the bore.
Only thing I don't like about it is the tapered barrel is to thin to thread unless you shorten it.

Not really. The Jaguar 457 has the exact same barrel profile and it's threaded at the muzzle. You can even switch out your barrel for the Jag barrels if you find one for sale.

Good ammo and a decent scope and you will get a ragged hole.
They use a 12mm scope rail so you want cz rimfire specific rings.

They are 11mm

My bad, 11mm. Still need cz rings.

Put a picatinny rail on it then use whatever rings you want.
Cz has factory ones.

I have used dip rails on all .22 in the house.

Mine is a 453 Varmint with the single set trigger, is the only rifle in my collection that I'll never part with.

FYI It's the Czech Republic, Slovakia has been a separate country for a long time now.

And yes, they are excellent rifles!
