The pilot survived.

The girl was murdered by a serial killer. She was a runaway. He cut off her hair and took pictures just before killing her. IIRC, I think she was only 14.

Yeah, well the Chinese official number of COVID deaths is 5,272. For the entire country, for the entire duration of the pandemic. That should tell you how reliable CCP data is on any topic.

Army Specialist Hilda Clayton was killed by a mortar explosion in 2013, but the military only just recently released a chilling image she captured in the final moments of her life. The 22-year-old combat photographer was working with members of the Afghanistan National Army when the mortar accidentally exploded.

Her photograph captures an Afghan soldier reacting to the blast during a live-fire training exercise. Four Afghan soldiers were killed in the blast.

Not Russian nor an artillery shell, but Robert F. Read took this bomb explosion on the deck of U.S.S. Enterprise 8/24/42. He was killed by the blast.

During an aerial photoshoot for General Electric on June 8, 1966, an F-104 Starfighter flown by NASA Chief Test Pilot Joe Walker collided with an XB-70 supersonic nuclear bomber. The Starfighter inadvertently drifted into the right wing of the XB-70 due to vortices produced by the wing and exploded in the air, while the Valkyrie crashed into the desert. Walker, who'd become the second person to fly a winged aircraft into space in 1963, is considered to be one of the greatest pilots to ever live. He was killed along with Valkyrie co-pilot Carl Cross. Valkyrie pilot Al White ejected and survived, but suffered grave injuries

"USS Sangamon (CVE-26) participated in the Okinawa Invasion and was damaged on May 4 by a kamikaze, resulting in damage to her flight deck, along with the loss of 11 of crew, 25 missing, and 21 seriously wounded."

(The Sangamon was also part of Taffy 1 during the Battle off Samar and had a near miss with a kamikaze which crashed within 50 yards of her after the plane was hit by a 5" shell from the Suwannee)

I was (almost) there for that one. In fact, I can see the seats my father and I were sitting in in this photo.

Forgot my hat, got a touch of heatstroke and so we struck off back to the hotel 20 minutes or so before this happened.

Never seen this angle before. Always tried to discern from video what may have happened to us had we been there.

My Dads lifelong friend was there in box 38.
According to him, box 37 was struck.
Plane missed him and his wife by a few feet.
Wiped out the people next to him.
He wrote a complete account of the incident.
