Checking my give a shit meter - I find it is pegged at zero.
And comparing it to LIV is a joke. Here is their viewership: How many viewers does LIV Golf have? LIV's third event of 2023, in Orlando from March 31-April 2, drew 1.26 million. It’s pretty simple: Be more entertaining. People watch sports to be entertained. Showmanship, flair, attitude, those are things the NBA mostly has figured out. It’s even more technical things like the WNBA allowing zone defense (boring) while the NBA does not. Better uniforms wouldn’t hurt either. Take a cue on that from literally any other women’s sport.

Salaries are probably low in WNBA is because your average boys HS team could smoke them.
No one is paying a lot of money to watch HS boys play. Perhaps Clark can initially get more people in the seats, but I doubt the jealousy of the current players will ever allow her to be the face of their league. I don't watch the NBA. I am sure not going to watch the WNBA. |

It's about marketability. They are selling a product that doesn't have mass appeal. People don't want to watch unattractive women play sports at a mediocre level.

Men are inherently superior to women at most sports, and nobody wants to watch the inferiors play, they want to watch the best of the best.
So rather than trying to play a men's game and complaining that nobody watches it, why don't they invent their own games that rely more on the characteristics that women naturally excel at? For example, there are many gymnastics events that men couldn't win if they were coed. Create an exciting, competitive team game that showcases female strengths and people will watch. |
