Fun fact: The green nova Jules and Vincent drive in pulp fiction is a nod to the movie repo man. The one that Marvin gets his head blown off in.

The generic canned goods in the movie are just labeled "Drink", "Beer", and "Food".   hahaha

As a side note: Harry Dean Stanton fucking rules. If you disagree with this statement, you are wrong. You may have millions of dollars, post on a Gun Forum, and have a supermodel wife, but if you don't think that Harry Dean Stanton rules, you are fucking wrong.

Wife tried to get me and some co-workers into that bill here in Austin two weeks ago last minute. Descendants Adolescents and Circle Jerks. Last time I saw Circle Jerks it was 1985 at The Loft in Baltimore…lol.  Two shows. I remember it well because me and my friend that went almost got jumped by skin heads on our way out.  The doorman and a group of SHARPs from DC intervened.

Doobity doo wop, wop say what, yeah…

They really did have "Generic" food items back then, labeled just that!

The original Food 4 Less had them.

Yellow containers labeled with whatever the product was.

I watched it Friday. There seems to be an interest in the movie.

BTW, it's a Michael Nesmith production. Yes, the former Monkee.

Fun fact. Emilio Estevez for many years was the most profitable actor in Hollywood based on return on investment. It still may be true. What this means is the movies he was in always made money. They also were inexpensive to make so it was easy for the movies to make 2, 3, or greater times the cost of the movie.

Greg Ginn is here in Taylor, Texas.  I guess there’s no love lost for him as many bands feel SST ripped them off…

Haven't see the movie since I was a teenager sitting in a B-movie theater somewhere in the Valley, summer of 1984, along with a half dozen drunk punks drinking beer trying not to get tossed out.

Funny movie, the soundtrack music was FANTASTIC!  Perfect example of a film being a "snapshot" in time, circa 1984.

The scene around the burn-barrel kinda reminds me GD these days.

Missed Stooges while Scott and Ron Asheton were still alive would’ve been nice to see with Mike Watt on bass .  I had a neighbor who saw them back in Michigan in the Seventies when I was growing up.  Saw most of the bands on that bill including the Damned (Dave and Capt. got into the shit with each other onstage, lol)

Got a friend from Cali that says Sublime was punk early on..

Don’t discount Fishbone, saw them twice in the eighties once at GWU with Schoolly D and they tore shit up.  Nonstop action.

Right on.  Thanks for the advice on Fishbone.

I'm looking forward to The Exploited, Agent Orange, and the "Crass" sets.  never saw any of them.  2nd tier would be TSOL, Jesus Lizard, and Dead milkmen.

Funny that both The Bronx and Dillinger are on the bill.  That's the one band I saw open for DEP that smoked 'em.  Think it was Baltimore on The Bronx' first album.  Tore it up.

First 6 months of 84 were great. I didn't see the movie until much later.did like it and was hanging out with different folks in 89..
Music from the 70s were great. 80s Music was like ripping off a bandaid. Still individual music and styles like 70s but very memorable
I liked fm radio then.
