Probably accurate. The Russian version of "lift and shift fire" seems a little harsh.

I think the movie was Braveheart?

It happens occasionally where there seems to be a parity of losses from both sides.  Best to look into it and see what vehicles are getting destroyed.   Is Russia still losing heavy units while Ukrine loses light units for example?

The Russians still believe in the concept of “leaning into their fire support”.  Where the maneuver force follows close enough to their fires suppressing the enemy that they are on top of the enemy positions prior to them able to recover from the suppression.  Up until WW2 most western militaries also accepted a small percent of casualties from doing it was a cost of doing business.

Russia does indeed abuse "foreign agent" designations, applying it to people who merely speak out against the government. But clearly labeling organizations that receive foreign funds is a valid requirement IMO. If a media outlet receives large amounts of funding from foreign sources, should you know about it? For instance, the Washington Times that we frequently cite for non-MSM stories is owned  under "a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity." Does that make it invalid? No. Is it good to know? Yes. Should non-profit organizations operating for social purposes be known and understood for who they are? Yes. For instance, don't you think it's worth knowing what the Open Society Foundations do with their $21B in annual spending? Heck yeah!

So while it's easy to look at what's going on in Tbilisi and support the people, the truth is more nuanced than the headlines would have you believe. IMO, the bill serves a legitimate public purpose, but is too broad and too vague. As such, it should be withdrawn and rewritten.

BTW, domestic politics in Georgia are... challenging. Post-Soviet states are a mixed bag, with some becoming very successful democracies (see Estonia) and some being repressive dictatorships (like Kazahkstan). An active electorate that takes to the street regularly is probably the best thing Georgia can have, even if instability serves Russian regional interests.

BTW, if anybody here has been in Georgia or has contacts in Georgia that can add context to my background please add it!

Foreign influence in news and elections is a huge problem. Here in the USA and to a much bigger extent in smaller countries. I watch Hungarian language news pretty regularly and the Orban Admin. is constantly criticizing US influence, financing opposition parties. There are several scandals where the leftist parties got millions of $$$ from the USA but claimed it was all small individual donations. They call it the "dollar-media" or "rolling dollars" since it comes from the USA (either Soros NGO's or State Dept. which seem to have the same people and same interests). It's the same model as Soros uses here in local elections like DA's and judges.

News from the sea.

crests began installing R-60/R-73 missiles on BECs. Two pieces per BEC. These are air-to-air missiles with a thermal homing head. The peculiarity of the missile is that it does not need any sighting systems or locators; the target is captured by the missile itself.
There were no recorded launches; the crests were able to somehow connect the rocket with the BEC telecontrol systems and are trying to work with them. So far to no avail.

At the moment, the most effective means against BECs are helicopters.

FIRED at an Mi-8 but didn’t hit?
Actually, the very moment of the destruction of the air defense BEC with the remaining R-73/R-60 by the crew of the Ka-29.
The first missile hit the Mi-8. Didn't hit.

The problem is a cultural one. Many senior GO/FO leaders grew up on "sexy" multi-million dollar weapon systems like fighter jets so drones are beneath them despite how low or high tech they might be.

AI-driven, networked weaponized drone swarms that can complete the ISR and Targeting process on their own are the future. I can envision them small enough to the point they can be delivered behind enemy lines onboard stealth cruise missiles and wreck havoc on fixed bases. Does that mean 5th and 6th gen jets are going away? Absolutely not but these swarms will complement traditional programs.

And therein lies the problem of why Western senior leaders avoid the drone discussion.. they see it as one or the other as opposed to one with the other.

Or a few hundred "visitors" bring in "toy drones" as gifts for their nephew...then at the right time all those "toy drones" come to life, network together, and launch from a few miles of the target. Like you say, they dont even need a fancy HE payload, just be kinetic or maybe have some steel, tungsten filings/powder as a payload when they head into the air intakes of our jets.

Israel increased scale of operations in the West Bank, rocket attacks from Lebanon are the most intense we've seen for some time, and Rafah is about to kick off.

IDF spokesperson: Some 30 rockets fired at Israel's north, no casualties reported --with 60 rockets fired yesterday, this is one of the most intense ~48 hours for aerial attacks from the north
An IDF spokesperson says the army identified 30 launches from Lebanon into northern Israel with no casualties reported.

According to the army's statement, forces are carrying out retaliatory strikes toward the source of the fire.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the rocket fire, claiming it fired dozens of Katyusha rockets at the Naffakh base in the Golan Heights.

Explosive drone hits northern Israeli town; IDF strikes Hezbollah targets in Lebanon
Army and local officials reported a drone carrying explosives hit the northern Israeli town of Metula.

According to the army, the air force struck 15 targets in a military base belonging to Hezbollah's elite Radwan force in Southern Lebanon.

A Palestinian gunman was killed and an explosive lab was destroyed during an ongoing IDF and Border Police raid in the West Bank city of Tulkarem, which began this morning, the military says.

The IDF says combat engineers uncovered explosive devices planted under roads in Tulkarem, and other troops located another explosive lab as well as seized an assault rifle amid the operation.

Elsewhere in the West Bank, 13 wanted Palestinians were detained overnight, the military says.

Since October 7, the IDF says troops have arrested some 4,000 wanted Palestinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,700 affiliated with Hamas.
View Quote

The narrative is now going to go all-out to stop an operation in Rafah…because Hamas needs to control the border so it can control humanitarian aid and work with its partners around the region and around the world who quietly backed it for years. When you see the voices exaggerating about Rafah, you’ll know who is behind the goal of keeping Hamas in power in Gaza
View Quote

Hamas didn’t come to power by accident, this is one of the most well funded, powerful terrorist groups in the world…even as an “armed group” or “militant”…it far exceeds anything else and it gets clout like hosted and backed by two western allies. No other group gets this backing and absolute power.
View Quote

Yes exactly. In fact Hamas was rewarded for rejecting ceasefires and the more it rejected them, the more its hosts got a thank you from the west. It's obvious from the beginning how this happened. The goal after Oct. 7 was to preserve Hamas in power...no one invests in Hamas since 2012 and even more since 2018 and then suddenly just let's it go. Western allies are the main backers of Hamas.
