No worse regret in life than not going after something you want.  Could be a job, woman, sport ect.

Edit: Gorl, seems like a very manly woman... I'm not sure if I have a type, but I'm sure I'm not into gorls.

Remember, this one is my base line...

Fun fact: Her Mom was my dental hygienist up until I was a teenager (she was the wife of one of my Dad's friends), but anyways, about 10 or so years ago in a Christmas card she sent to my parents, she maybe not so jokingly asked if I was still available for her daughter... This was shortly after she had just went through a divorce from her first husband. I'm not sure that my Mom ever got back to her on that, but I probably wouldn't have really considered it anyways since she had kids by that point.

I think her Mom always hoped her daughter had went with me over the guys she ended up with. I wasn't bad looking around that time and I still had most of my hair... I even wore jeans back then, lol. We might have made a good match. Just thinking about it all here recently makes me kind of sad.

I do appreciate that advice. Though I actually did look into her social media a few years back. Maybe not surprisingly as I was born in the 80s I never really got into social media, so I had to set up a Facebook account just to see if she was on there. She was, but as she was also born in the 80s she is not all that active on social media either (at least from what I saw). I don't think she has a Twitter account, not sure if she has an Instagram account. I know she has an old LinkedIn account as the picture I posted of her has a LinkedIn address. I just searched her name on Google to find that, but I had to dig to find the picture.

But anyways, I know she's not available as she had a picture posted up of her with her new guy. Her ex husband is Indian (Native American), I always thought it was interesting that she went that way. Of course she has the 2 kids from the first husband and I just wouldn't want to get involved into any of that. I wish her a good life, but seeing small glimpses and hearing a few updates here and there throughout the years about her I'm not really so sure if it has been... Last I heard she actually worked as a bartender at one of the local Indian casinos and she still might, I have no idea. I have my old memories, but I likely won't see her again. I think my Mom and her Mom actually stopped exchanging Christmas cards a couple of years ago. My dad hasn't even talked with her dad in maybe 10 or so years. Not because of politics, I think it's just the lack of contact between our families just caused things to fizzle out over time.

It all sucks because I very much still remember the strong feelings I had for her... I just had to bury them and try to forget. And I guess I never really did. Heck, I still have dreams on occasion where she's in them. She's either leaving, or I just missed her as I was going to meet her. It's really very bizarre... Probably at least part of the reason I don't sleep very well anymore.

It really is the best feeling in the world. Though it's as rare as golden moose eggs and I've only experienced it a few times... Of course with me it's always by random chance since I've never looked for it. But even for you having more experience it sounds just as insanely rare. The quartz crystals really have to be rubbed a certain way and the planets all have to align or something.

I don't need to have a super deep connection, hell I never have with ANY of the girls I've had sex with, but being a total stranger is just weird. Only did that twice and it was more of a chore than it was enjoyable, other than knowing "ok, so I DO know I can get a woman off and it wasn't just that one girl" (as both those times were right after the girl I lost my virginity to). But it did wonders for my confidence. Then there were a couple I briefly dated after that. But I usually get looked at funny when I tell other dudes that, they don't care at all as long as she's attractive.

Bold #2: Yes, that is true. I think that used to be called metrosexual back in the day, but now it's just common style. Might not be a reliable predictor anymore.

Thanks bud, cheers! Lol, I don't drink anymore either. Been 3 years, and almost 2 months. Been talking to Jaime on the dating site for a couple days now. Seems we have a good amount in common. At least enough that I'm gonna ask her out for coffee, see where that goes. We're both home bodies, don't socialize much, and we like doing outside stuff. Not sure how she feels about guns, but I'm not gonna bring that up right away. She has a cute, nerdy look to her, and she's pretty thin at 30 years of age. So we'll see what happens.

Unless I get catfished lol!

Yeah I've always wondered what would be the way to bring up the fact that you like/own guns to women... Probably best avoided at first and just try to get what her views are as the relationship goes along. But at the same time it's such a big part of my life that I don't see how the topic could be avoided for long. For me, if I was setting up a dating profile I think I'd have to mention it as a hobby at the least to only appeal to women that have no issues with it.

Good luck on the date!

Yeah, I kinda figure it's best to allow her to get to know me first so she doesn't just automatically assume I'm some crazy nutjob with guns, because it seems a lot of women do think that. Show her you can be chill and down to earth. The three C's: calm, cool, and collected, which you want to give off anyway so you don't scare them away. They have all sorts of little tests for that. See, at a certain point it's just an impossible thing to tip toe around. But if the presence of a gun is enough to end a relationship then it just wasn't meant to be. That's why I'm almost not torn on just letting that cat out of the bag right out of the gate... Not at all suggesting that you take my advice on that. That's just how I'd go about it for myself if I were so inclined to ever attempt dating.

Now I will say that I'd enjoy some good waffles with real maple syrup, but it sounds like the experience leading up to that would probably be the end of me. I mean, those shackled guys with the crushed pelvises in that Futurama clip didn't look like they made it to the waffles.

I think I can easily do without the box wine and Amazonian/timbersports gorl love-down and just make the waffles myself and probably be better off.

in the time it took you to write all this you could've hit on all the waitresses at texas roadhouse, found a couple who need help paying the rent tomorrow, and profited.

the rare and true gems come out of the woodwork when the rent is due and/or they have cah repairs that need funding.

Trust me when I say I shouldn't be around most sharp objects. Even just a couple of weeks ago I somehow stupidly managed to cut myself with a utility knife... I don't handle blood and injury well at all and I almost passed out a few times just changing the bandage on that one, and it was only a little worse than a papercut.

Never really had any sense of adventure. Really, I view most activities through a heavy veil of fear and anxiety... Never really been able to overcome it. And there's never any reward I can image that's worth the risk.

I have a love for Texas, but Texas Roadhouse not so much. Food is okay, never cared for steak though. I've only been inside of one twice (I believe), but the atmosphere of the place is just not for me.

Sometimes I get carried away in my writing. If I ever need to post up the lame story of the last girl I was into (the one with the horses) I have it so I can just copy and paste it, because after I wrote it out the first time it was far too long for me to want to take the time to write it out again. Same with the girl that was into me on a homeschooling field trip one time.

I really hope you do find that special someone some day and make that fully reciprocated connection. Luckily you still have a few years before you really might start loosing hope over the possibility. For me at 40 I have more than a bleak outlook with my issues.

Anyways, cheers to that! Not that I drink anymore.

When I think about it I can safely say that's really all I've ever wanted out of life. Fantasized about it since the first time I ever felt feelings for a girl (7th grade, I think). Just always seemed like the most magical thing that could happen to a person.  Really thought I would have had at least 1 special relationship by now, even if it didn't last. Sometimes I wonder if the lack of that in my life has anything to do with my extremely cynical outlook on the world. Used to bother me a lot, then I got used to it. Maybe it never happened because I wasn't actually ready, still needed to do work on myself. Been a very transformative last 4 or 5 years for me, and I'm still changing for the better. Guess going through hell will do that to you if you channel it into productivity instead of letting it destroy you. In my life I've found out that everything happens for a reason, even negative things. Kind of gave up on the whole idea for a while, but now I think it's time I start trying again. So I am.

The longing really resonates with this song.

Lol, that was good. Though the next one that popped up after, "So Lonely" was even better.

Not sure, but I've been led to believe by most here that it's either because of Low-T or a case of the gay.

I know I'm not gay, but I haven't had my testosterone checked. Anyways... Hamburger, chicken, pork is always better than steak IMO. I will still eat steak every now and then, it's just one of my least favorite things to eat so I don't go out of my way for it.

Lol, of course it did! Sting was a lonely guy too, judging by the lyrics to 2/3 of their songs.

You know, I believe you're right. After listening to those last two and you mentioning that, I just now remembered that he had "Message in a Bottle" too. Lol, kind of a "Duh Cliff" moment for me, lol.

I've just never listened to a lot of Sting's music other than what I've heard on the radio over the years... Might have to start listening now.

I'll admit that there have been a very rare few that I thought were at least okay... The problem might actually lie in the fact that I don't like eating them unless they are well done. No red inside...

Now what's sad it that I started up a Facebook account again today to check on the girl I've been talking about in this thread... She hasn't updated a thing on there since I last checked in on it a few years ago, so it seems she abandoned the account in 2017.

I looked through her past pictures and found this one to my liking...

Picture removed by me.

There were a couple others that indicated she wasn't anti gun. I'm glad she turned out okay in that way.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average age Americans lose their virginity (defined here as vaginal sexual intercourse) is 17.1 for both men and women. The CDC also reports that virgins make up 12.3 percent of females and 14.3 percent of males ages 20 to 24. That number drops below 5 percent for both male and female virgins ages 25 to 29 and goes as low as 0.3 percent for virgins ages 40 to 44.
