March of 1925.

Ah. I knew there was a 5 in there somewhere. Thanks for the correction!

Corfidi, Doswell and a couple other researchers analyzed the mesoscale setup of that event using contemporary modeling methods. Definitely worth a read if you're into severe storms forecasting. There are parallels with other notable outbreaks, in particular the Palm Sunday (1965) system.

Watching Timmer's youtube channel. One of the chasers just watched s tornado hit a house and stopped to check and see if there were people inside. Crazy watching this go down live.

He's on the phone with 911 right now. Apparently an elderly lady inside.

ETA lady is not seriously injured.

Prayers for folks in the path.

We are a little north of it all here in SD, just got a tiny sideswipe with some light rain and wind.

Our neighbors in Iowa and Nebraska catching the brunt. If there's anything we can help with in the aftermath let us know, I got room for people to park RV's temporarily if your house got nailed. Can help send supplies too.

Prayers for those affected.  The rest of you in the area keep your heads on a swivel and stay safe.

Damn I hate tornadoes, especially the nocturnal bastards.  Glad I moved to an area with much less risk.

I do not live there but I am guessing they have happened in the past.  Now more $$$ damage may occur due to inflation and growth in the area.

Odd.  For all of the tornadoes that I went through in the Midwest and down South.  I have only ever laid eyes on ONE tornado.  IN ARIZONA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God help us. Western Iowa is getting nailed right now. We're in central Iowa so hopefully we don't get hit; it's calm here now.

Sounds like Minden, IA just got hit by a huge tornado.

Shit.  Hope not a lot of people died.  One of the reasons I will always live here.  Literally no forms of dangerous weather or natural disaster here.  Tornadoes scare the hell out of me.  Saw one in Iowa when I was visiting as a kid fucked all kinds of stuff up.  Been a nope for me ever since

Am in Bellevue, NE (extreme southeast Omaha area).  Just some heavy rain and pea-sized hail.  Wind pretty tame here.  Northwest Omaha area got hit hard.  The airport, which is far east Omaha on the NE side of the Missouri River, actually got a tornado dropped on it.  Terminal didn't get hit, but at least one of the outer buildings on the property did.

I was watching from the porch tonight for a bit sounds like there was a touch down near onawa which is 15 minutes from me or so.  The hill stopped a lot of the wind from hitting hard but the rain came down hard for a bit which sucks because we don't have gutters.  I will be watching for folks needing help tomorrow.
