Big fan of the movie. I went to see it in the theater. Sure there are a few goofy things but then it is just lots of aliens getting killed by Marines and that made me happy.

One thing I have a hard time getting over is how effective small arms is against the aliens. I mean, these things traveled here millions of light years and their armor can't even stop M855

Love that movie. I watched it a few weeks back with the M16A4 clone it inspired me to build.

I was down at Camp Minden when they were filming this in Shreveport, they used a shit ton of equipment from LANG.
(On a side note, they filmed Private Valentine: Blonde and Dangerous at the same time) |

In the scene where they are fighting on the overpass, the alien infantry are bringing up that walking cannon. It appears to be malfunctioning and the aliens are kicking it and you just know they are cussing supply and maintenence and being issued junk equipment just like any human infantry would. I enjoyed the simple stuff that was written in to it like that.

I LOL'd at how they immediately send off 3/4 of the Platoon, while keeping the PL and PSG with the 1/4 ("One squad and a Machinegun Team") to deploy out on a Random Task.
Something tells me the Company CO had trust issues.... BTW, the Machinegun Team never appears on screen. RIP, guys. |
