ETA- some are indeed banned, but people still use others...it's one of those "you can't stop the signal Mal" type situations. Bottom line is it absolutely does not explain his disappearance.

There are left wing freaks who have moved to Russia as well, because they think it's going to go back to Communism.

That article is pure left wing propaganda latching on to a few mentally ill individuals, associating them with MAGA, and trying to paint those who support Donald Trump as "unAmerican," which is laughable coming from the left.

Wrapped up in a headline so that low-information people see MAGA=Russia.

Meanwhile, the actual stats for ALL citizens of the US (presumably a mix of (D) and (R) and independents) living
in Russia right now is 4,600, having moved there sometime over the average lifetime. Which is ~ .0013%, and if
you adjust for moves in the past 4 years when MAGA people would move.. it's 5% of that number: 0.000065%.

Statistically speaking, zero.

So the story headline is for sure complete and utter bullshit.

There's a great series of papers called the "Russian Firehose of Propaganda" or something similar. The idea is that they absolutely inundate the information space with so much propaganda you lose track of what is and what isn't. The quality of most of it is irrelevant, most people that aren't retarded can dismiss the poor quality information quite easily. The idea is that you can dismiss the poor quality propaganda easily, but you let your guard down when it comes to the higher quality propaganda.

It's  called the Firehose of Falsehood. The term was made up by RAND in 2016 and the wiki for that term is like a litany of CIA causes from the last decade. Trump, etc

The idea for Firehose of Falsehood is not even original. RAND seems to have lifted that from the internet creationist vs atheist war, because the definition is a near copy paste of Gish Gallop, named  after a creationist who used funny debate tactics.

This is a big time case of "The left can't meme". They are going to search through all the memes that arose from some internet phenomenon, change a few words to say Trump or Russia, then publish it like an academic finding.

It seems more likely that this is in fact Russian propaganda, not liberals trying to somehow associate conservatives with Russia which really serves no purpose for them, and sadly conservatives seem to do well enough on their own anyway.

I don't think anyone is falling for the part in bold

What purpose does it serve for liberals to claim MAGA's are moving to Russia.
What purpose does it serve for Russia to claim MAGA's are moving to Russia. (Keeping in mind this is a well established tactic they've used many times before in slightly varying forms).

You see how this is essentially the same message right?

ETA - if your point is that liberals will make fun of idiot MAGA's that move to Russia then sure. The larger point is these handful of fools move to Russia in the first place because they're dumb enough to believe Russian propaganda.

It's certainly in line with the Democrat "Russia collusion " nonsense and consistently supports the propaganda they've been doing since 2016

It's also in line with ACTUAL shit I've heard plenty of conservatives say about how christian and conservative Russia is so...

Hmmm...one is a line we have seen from elected politicians and media pundits on air for years and the other might be a few morons that you know. Which is more widespread and established?

Sad to say it's a lot more than just a few morons.

I don't know  a single one. I guess you need a better class of friends.

It's not communist.

It's russian.

A corrupt oligarchy run by the filthy rich. They aren't what they were in the USSR.

The communist system finally collapsed because we stopped supporting it and instead of givng them something like an open market, we (the west) broke up their economy as it was, effectively destroying it, and than ... walked away without helping them become an open market.

So the criminals took over and now they have a criminal run economy and politics with a strongman at the top.

You know.

Russian?

As for christian - no, it's not a christian state. They have a state church, the russian orthox, and they pollute and negate it via its involvement in the state (that is how ALL state churches work) meaning it's effectively a non-christian church.

If you try and go there and be anything but politically corrupted russian orthodox, you're going to get abused and squashed - *by law.*

In the soviet era the russians tried the social insanity and found out it didn't work and they pulled back from it very quickly. However, the damage had already been done.

Even the american left realized this, in the 1920s: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1926/07/the-russian-effort-to-abolish-marriage/306295/

Newsflash:

And communism was also collectivistic by teaching and practice where the russian kleptocracy is not now, it was also by party platform and practice secularistic, which russia is not now (they went back to the old state in bed with official state church stuff) and they also did a bunch of stuff in the communist era that made things economically worse than than they are now.

Russian does not mean communist.

Unlike leftists, I know that words actually mean things.
