Besides owning Deej86...anyone else ever meet him?
Anyone know, for a fact, if he's a "gun guy"? I gotta wonder, I caught an episode of Good Eats where he was explaining gelatin, and interestingly enough, he went off on a tangent about ballistics gelatin, the segment was complete with a trip to a range, and a shooter with a 1911 stoked with FMJ 230's. I vaguely recall seeing some other stuff tying him to being a shooter, but can't recall any specifics to mind. |
|
I heard he shot a steak with a Glock .45, but I've yet to see video of it.

what he do to deej?
From what I recall, Deej kind of sort of fails at basic chemistry |

He's been quite vocal about his feelings that he should be allowed to own guns, but no one else should. As far as Brown, I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me. I know he's a pretty big knife guy... |
|
Tony is a bleeding heart liberal. I still watch his show . He shots guns cause it's good for the ratings.

Bourdain and his faggy little earring can FOAD...it makes me sick to listen to him "Embrace and immerse himslf in the enviroment" (Usually a 3rd World Shithole)
Now Brown as a knife guy, that doesn't surprise me, being a Chef kinda lends itself to that. AROKIE- Deej had a moment of inattentiveness during a AB lecture and responded very much incorrectly when AB asked about a molecule he was displaying....IIRC The response was "OK, you came here in the short bus...." |
|
I got to take a cooking class from AB one time at a Central Market here. He was a really cool dude (I'm a big AB fan...)
I don't know about him being a gun fan, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. Alton Brown FTW! |

Anthony Bourdain sucks ass. Super liberal hippy. +1, that guy has made some stupid ass statements before. |

Basically he said "it scares the shit out of me that people can have this stuff, but guns are awesome and if the Nuge and I were the only ones that had them, it'd be cool." You know, the typical knee jerk response of a liberal who realizes that he'd like to have guns. Not that that's any kind of excuse or anything. |

AB and Good Eats are great. Check out his jerky recipe and Smoke Salmon recipes.

Doesn't he live near Atlanta? Someone at a gun range or gun shop has bound to have seen him. The guy has to buy ammo somewhere, he can't order it all in, I mean everyone likes to window shop.
Come on, someone put the word out and let's end this bullshit story one way or another. |
|
IIRC, he is an avid knife collector. Don't know about guns though
|
|
Amusingly enough, the Good Eats Knife episode is on right now.

Don't know about him being a gun guy, but he is a watch and knife guy.
Several pics of him at Blade Show about the net... |

He has his "Private Pilot, Single Engine, Land" certificate and is working on his Instrument rating.

He's gun guy, carries a Glock IIRC. Met and worked with him. Funny guy but brutal on a set.

Less of a liberal anti-gun mentality and the TYPICAL NYC city dweller eliteism. Bourdain also goes to the shooting range in NYC, so he likes guns, but can't get over his elite mentality. |

Me and a few friends took a couple of weeks off
and took our bikes (bmw) same as AB and rode the same course(could get the exact map off his website) and stopped and ate at the same places he did in his road show, had a great time and meet probably close to 100 groups doing the same thing. |

My SIL goes to his church. I went one time. Spent the whole sermon looking for him.

I'm a big fan of the show and I don't recall ever seeing him shoot... Even in the ep with the gelatin he didn't do the shooting, another guy did. Neat that he put the gelatin shoot in the show, of course, and I've had my suspicions about him possibly being a shooter, but I have no confirmation.

AB and Good Eats are great. Check out his jerky recipe and Smoke Salmon recipes. And his two part fried chicken vid on youtube. I married a Yankee (no fried foods) and had to take matters into my own hands. As a matter of fact I'm having a chicken breast I fried Sunday for lunch today. |

I have one of his books, and have skimmed it. I do believe there was some reference to a firearm in there.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Alton Brown was a gun guy.. He rides motorcycles and they very much go together. In fact, I don't know anyone who has a bike and doesn't have at least one gun.
He did an article for one of the US mags a year or so ago where he and another dude went on a day trip with their bikes and used the exhaust heat to cook the food while they rode. |

Alton Brown is intelligent. Most intelligent people and most arfcommers like guns.
|
|
He lives near me. I have seen him around. His kids go to the school I graduated from. As for firearms, never seen him at any shops, shows, or ranges.
From what I have been told by people around him, he is somewhat arrogant. |

I think I remember seeing him on a food channel Christmas show and he said that he got a .22 rifle when he was about six, but had broken his arm just before Christmas and couldn't use it.
