I considered that to be the next logical step in platforms. Would need steel reinforced sections like the AK due to similar lock up. Promags are iffy, HK mags are inversely proportional in price to capacity (40rd 93 = $35ish while 20rd 93 = $100+) Speaking of HK platform.....Stocks, handguards, kthxbai.

I would be definitely interested in buying Magpul made, C93 magazines!
There are quite a few of these rifles out there that need decent magazines. Maybe even Magpul magazine pouches? |

Hk53 Hk93 C93 rifle and pistol And vector makes clone too right? Alot of people need mags I considered that to be the next logical step in platforms. Would need steel reinforced sections like the AK due to similar lock up. Promags are iffy, HK mags are inversely proportional in price to capacity (40rd 93 = $35ish while 20rd 93 = $100+) Speaking of HK platform.....Stocks, handguards, kthxbai. I don't know if you have looked lately but any mag is going for 80-100 dollars right now (HK) and the plentiful 40 rounders are all gone |

M4/AR15 and AK type weaponry will be obsolete before long. Hell, some think the AR15/AK is obsolete NOW. I doubt magpul is going to stop making AR/AK mags though. So, I guess my point is that while they may not make mags of 'obsolete guns' now, they will soon, unless they start getting rid of a lot of current products. Might as well embrace some of the more popular old school stuff out there. Some metric FAL mags would be good too...keep the FN/RFB crowd happy.

Talking about obsolete designs....
What country / LEO organization / military is using the "next gen" battle rifle / subgun? Shit, what IS the "next gen" gun? There are a few (FEW) orgs out there that have some new fangled things with proprietary mags (P90, MP7), but the vast majority of platforms, new and old, would use a mag that is current. Magazine technology is pretty well pinnacled with the Gen 2 / 3 PMAG; depending if you want windows or not. Until someone can come up with a "zero malfunction" mag, I doubt we will see anything for a while in that department. That said, improving on existing platforms that the market is saturated with is largely where Magpul has been doing. New gun platforms take TONS of money and R&D these days. Reminder: AR design came out in 1957; HK roller lock just after WWII (in Spain with the CETME, later moved back to Germany after things cooled down) AK adopted in 1947 FAL circa 1955 All still going strong worldwide. Next gen platforms could include G36, XM8, ACR, SCAR. All are pretty close to the same design, a piston M4. Some with proprietary mags, all mucho dinero. |
