Made my donation. Thanks for posting this in the discussion area. With all the different areas of this board I never would have found it otherwise.
4 more?? |

Made a 20 dollar donation the other day. If I can't beat the people who probably bought 20 or more at least it goes to a good cause .

Any news on the final numbers of tickets bought before midnight sunday?

On behalf of AmericanSnipers, AR15.com, and all those who benefit form the contributions made, special thanks to all those that contributed to this fundraiser.
A winner was selected tonight during the Gemtech Appreciation Party at SHOT. Each donation received a raffle ticket which was placed into the bag. This bag was closed and the contents shuffled, first by a number of attendees, and then by a line of Hooters girls that passed it along. At the end of the line, a winner was selected and immediately contacted. A video is available, and will be posted later. And the winner is: Robert Wilke (bwilke)
Congrats to Robert, and it just so happens that he is a Florida native and will be stopping by the AmericanSnipers booth tomorrow. Hopefully we can meet up and get a couple of pictures. Thanks again to all those that donated. |

Hey all-
In total we raised approximately $25,000 for American Snipers. Thanks to the folks at Gemtech who not only hosted the giveaway drawing during their customer appreciation party (yes- video from Hooters of the drawing will be posted), but also contributed another $3500 at the end. It makes me proud to be associated with guys like the members of AmericanSnipers.org who dedicate all their free time to help their brothers out. In addition, there are key people in the industry who are not simply interested in making a buck, but about truly helping others out. Every single one of the companies that donated to the prize package, and the guys from Gemtech (especially Kel) who never stop at a chance to help. Marty from Badger Ordnance is another- the first day of the show Marty plopped one of his excellent rifles complete with optics on the American Snipers table and said- "here- get what you can for it." If that's not enough, during the drawing for his rifle I watched him continue to throw money into their donation jar. The community of AR15.com and all that donated to this cause is one of the reasons I am so proud of this site. While we have our share of idiots, whiners and complainers, the majority here are some of the best people this country has to offer. I applaud and admire all that supported this effort, and am proud to be a humble member of this community. Congratulations to the winner, to all those downrange that actually benefit from this effort and spend their days and nights making this world safer for all of us, and when it comes time to spend some money on gear, don't forget who the good guys are. For anyone interested in donating, American Snipers is always accepting donations at their site http://www.americansnipers.org/ and has a number of other fundraisers listed there. |
