Let's see those builds!

I'll kick it off.
I thought It'd be fun to redo one of My old carbines-
as historically accurate as possible to a real US Army M4A1 MWS/SOPMOD clone:

* All RRA M4gery parts and components.
RRA Later M4A1 type stock-would've preferred a Colt CAR stock.
16" 1/9 CL bbl w/slipover FFH for a 14.5" look-
will eventually chop to 14.7" and add a A2 birdcage.

For accuracy's sake,:
*Aimpoint M68 CCO (NSN-1240-01-439-7265)
*Aimpoint QRP with Riser-(NSN-1240-01-439-7265)
Matech 600 Mt. BUIS-(NSN-1005-01-484-8000)-would've rather had a Knight's 300 mt.
KAC RAS-(NSN-1005-01-452-3527)
KAC Panels-(PN: 95047)
KAC Vert grip-(NSN-1005-01-416-1091)
Colt side sling swivel
lottsa 550 Cord/90 MPH Tape

Basic Carbine:

With a Classic Surefire 660 Weapon's light(NSN-6230-01-527-5765)+
A19 9V extension/P90 bulb upgrade and a KAC mount:

With Surefire M962 9V Weapon light(NSN-6230-01-528-2989):

Let's assume the soldier or Marine didn't like the KAC VFG, couldn't get a Matech and had his mom send him a Surefire 9P.

I don't happen to know the NSN for the EOTECH

Well, I'm not a Soldier or Marine(build for historical accuracy), I feel that the KAC grip is not the best option(Tango Down),  don't really like the Matech either, and I have no problem converting 6/9Ps to weapons lights...........So Your good to go.

C'mon, I know a lot of You have M4/A4 clones..........especially EKIE(inspired My Army M4 build).

Post 'em.

Here is my M4gery SOPMOD clone in progress.

Business end......

Obviously, the Harris bi-pod isn't actually part of the SOPMOD program. I still have a few changes scheduled for it. From MSTN, I'm getting an LMT SOPMOD stock and a KAC 300m buis. The Matech and bi-pod are going to go on my 20" M16A4 clone that I'm working on.

I'm debating on selling the COMP M and replacing it with the Eotech 553. I also plan on replacing the charging handle with the PRI gas buster, adding the extractor O-ring, KAC ambi-selector to name a few. I have ways to go needless to say.

I will comeback and add A4 pictures as that project develops.

I think I came pretty close to duplicating the M4 I carried in Iraq. No burst and it's not a Colt (Bushy lower, CMMG 14.7 upper), but other than that it's pretty much the same. The rail system is a Midwest Ind. though, not KAC.

Nice carbines.  I hope this thread keeps going.

The one on the right is my Dad's M4gery and I just realized, I don't have any good pics of it.   I'll have to get some.

im gathering parts up now to do a clone of a standard issue M4 right now.  pretty much just need a lower.  actually i have several builds that just need a lower.  im waiting on the aimpoint M2 to come in the mail.  i have debated on doing the current issue or the early issue with the older car stock.  i have the parts to do either, well id need a comp m then to do that one, so i guess ill do the current issue.

That EOTech looks like the glass is broken. It's still supposed to work, according to EOTech's ads.

One question - What is the standard issue rear BUIS for those flattops M4's?
Link Posted: 9/27/2006 8:57:15 AM EDT
[#28]
The main BUIS's that I have seen are the Matech BUIS.

But I have also seen KAC 300 meter, 600 meter sights along with ARMS 40 and 40L's. The KAC and ARMS items are more prolific in the SOCOM community as a result of those items being issue in the M4 SOPMOD kits.

I'm swapping the upper with a buddy who wants a heavy barrel for an M4 contour one in 1x7 twist.

Its a High Standard Lower with a Del-Ton upper, KAC M4 RAS, Aimpoint M2, MaTech BUIS and Mamba 3-pt sling, as close to the real thing as CA laws will permit me to have.

Correct.
The KAC M4 RAS/RIS and M5(M16A4) are 2 piece clamshell, non-freefloat.

Lemme' guess, brocken locking plates form being over-torqued, and stripped screws.
Both causing the sight to, well basically fall off under fire or not.

The GG&G seems to be the more rugged of the two+ having duel apetures.

Nice pics, Man.

It's the carbine I would like to carry on duty.  My chief won't allow us to carry personal carbines on duty.  The department only has two carbines that are already issued.

It's an A.R.M.S. #22M68 mounted on a Knights RAS II.
