Can a conventional M203 (with the barrel clamp) be mounted to a mid-length action?

Thanks. I thought that was the case. I was thrown by the ad for the Samson extended mid-length rail.....pretty sure the FSB goes where the M203 cut is on a middie.
With the URXII being unobtanium, The DD RISII looks like the only game in town. And that's an expensive game.....

Huh..? Yes you can, just not one with a mid-length gas system.

So the AR15 CAR handguard CANNOT have a M203 installed, you must have a MID LENGHT to house a M203 flare launcher

They are saying a midlength cannot use a standard 203, but a car/m4 handguard model can.

The midlength is the one with the longer handguards (like Armalite uses on some carbines) that are shorter than A2 handguards, but longer than car/M4 handguards.

ok so moral or the story is

"If you want a M203 attached to your AR15 rifle, you must have a CAR upper setup and _________ (fill in the blank here)"

Now im goin to try to answer the question by saying leave it alone your done, just screw it down and ur good,  but im guessing you need a 300$ rail like daniel defense or some other crafty thing  right guys???

m203 for sale

so pretty much if were to get the M203 with upper rail part, we pretty much keep our CAR gas system stuff, and scrap the CAR handguard

The M203 with upper attachment will replace the CAR Handguard

this mite be useful for those building a custom AR15 for deep wilderness trekking and dont want some fancy smancy rail system

To mount an M203, you remove the CARBINE or M4 handguards, slide the M203 back over the chamber of the barrel and snap it up into the M203 cut forward of the handguards.
You will also need the uber-cool M203 upper handguard.

Or, just get a rail-mount model that does not need access to the barrel.
Then you can have any length handguard as long as it has a lower rail.
