Just smoked some plastic on a BCM 14.5 Socom Upper and a Gunfighter Mod 4 CH. Hopefully should be here by friday ...............
Man, BCM is quick !! Arrived about an hour ago. Can't wait till this weekend !!!!!!

Breaking News: About 99% of the rifles the guys on this site personally own will never be fired in a "Two way range" situation OP got a socom barrel because he wants one. Freedom =/= Need. OP, post pics when it comes in. |

Let us know how it shoots, I've been hearing good things about BCM, and they do offer just about every barrel type and configuration you can think of. As in: will it go 1moa with 75-77 gr match, or there abouts, because if it does, I'll order one. Also, when will BCM offer a Gunfighter handle in a "gasbuster" type mod., or do they, because I didn't see one on their web page.

I was thinking of getting a SOCOM barrel myself. How much heavier is it than a standard M4 barrel? Congrats to the OP on the new purchase.

Its a 7 ounce difference in my CMMG the Colt is 8oz difference.

Your welcome I dont really notice the weightas the SOCOM barrels are on the Osprey piston conversion carbines so not using a rail system helps with the front end feel.I have flat top uppers and thats all I really need for what I use wich is a BUIS and AIMPOINT..I have a light attachment with pressure switch that fits in the 203 notch so a rail and foregrip is pretty much useless to me.

Pretty damn cool. How is the handling? It seems like the SOCOM profile from BCM is the one to get due to their improvements.

ETA- My 14.5 BCM Gov. profile is so accurate, and thats with XM193, I could draw pictures with it. The SOCOM should be a shooter. |

I wish I would have ordered the 14.5" socom BCM upper instead of the M4 profile, but I maybe need another hat soon
