Pararescuemen from the 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron carry rescue gear as they assess their surroundings during an extrication exercise at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Jan. 23, 2016. The exercise allowed service members from the 83rd ERQS and the Craig Joint Theater Hospital here an opportunity to practice their response to real-world emergency scenarios. In 1966, in the thick jungle near Saigon, Airman 1st Class William H. Pitsenbarger, a Pararescueman, hoisted nine wounded soldiers to safety aboard a HH-43 Huskie and then chose to remain behind to treat the wounded despite the heavy firefight of 134 soldiers from 1st Infantry Division surrounded by 500 Viet Cong troops.
He continued to treat the wounded and pass ammunition to the surviving soldiers until he was mortally wounded. He received the Air Force Cross posthumously, and later the Air Force upgraded the award to the Medal of Honor. — with Joel Miller Ureana. |

Thank you.
Someone donated one of these litters to us and I was a little leery of it. Prefer SKED but could see that this is a little more "quick deployable". I'll have to experiment. Must be for only short carries with only a provision for two people carry. So sorry for drift on this awesome thread. Regards. |

There are some new AFSOC photos that show a NC Star MLOK extended FSP hand guard being used along with some BCM furniture (stock, pistol grip). Does anyone have experience with the NC Star rail? It doesn't look very robust, and I'd be shocked if it could hold a zero with a laser if it was pushed up against a barricade. I'd like to learn more if anyone has experience with it.

It seems like there is nor a uniform stock, grip, BUIS, light, or optic for the PJ's weapons. The only thing uniform is the DD Omega rail and Surefire Flash hider. What is the current light for the Airforce PJ's weapon platform? I saw a lot of M952 lights but nothing else

The NCStar rail uses a standard delta ring, while the Geissele uses a proprietary barrel nut. The pic definitely has the NCStar rail. |
