I'll be buying a Spikes Tactical mid length and I'm looking for the handguard upgrades without the need of removing the delta ring.

if I add a rail on the handguard in order to attach a harris bipod every now and then. if that something that would work. upgrading the handguard is the main reason I'm willing to do it since I haven't used the polymer handguards before.

Thanks in advance guys.

What is your budget?

A magpul midlength handguard is easy and cheap to install.

I don't really have a budget as long as I like how it looks and works well.

I forgot to say that I don't want polymer/plastic

Midwest Industries.  Their Gen 2 drop-in rails are rock solid.  I have one on my mid-length and I like it a lot!  They're on sale at Primary Arms, here's a link below.  Takes about 5-minutes to install if you take your time.

Chop the delta and cap with a dremel, and go with a Centurion C4

I'm gonna have to go with the keymod from Midwest industries. The centurion looks nice but it cost too much and it would take a big chunk of my budget since I'm waiting for a Daniel Defense M4V9 with the new tornado color.

I'll add to this.

You don't actually need to get a new handguard if all you want to do is attach a bipod.

What you get is this: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Midwest-Industries-MCTAR-03-p/mctar-03.htm

This fits int he small holes on the plastic handguard. So long as you don't rough use the handguard, you should be a-okay with keeping a bipod on the handguard you have.

I have for a while ran with this setup using a forward handgrip and it hasn't damaged or otherwise indicated to me that it would break. Really nice piece.

That's if you want a money saver for that DD rail you have your eyes on.

I'm going to try that first. Its actually the new Daniel Defense rifle not the rail.

I'm strongly considering this myself.

http://www.primaryarms.com/UTG-PRO-Model-4-15-Mid-Length-Super-Slim-Drop-in-H-p/mtu007ss.htm

Mounting a bi-pod is possible. I'm liking how slim line it looks.

Is an UTG I would say no to that one. I will just leave it as it is.

Your call, It's a UTG pro though. Made in USA, and their rails have come a really long way. Just a consideration, you don't really have a budget in mind so spoil yourself

THIS. Please don't go the way of the mall ninja. You don't need the cheese grater handguard unless you NEED it (in other words, you're GOING to mount every thing and the kitchen sink to it). I'm so tired of everyone thinking they NEED quad rails, just to put covers all over it. Don't. Just use it first and figure out what you NEED. "Less is more" with AR's. Lighter, nimbler, faster. Leave the cheese grater's for the OPS that have to lug all that crap around. We're not them.
