There are multiple ways to attach a sling, I count over six mounting possibilities in this picture alone:

I run my Troy 2 point through the rear vertical sling slot just behind the buttpad.

Ok, be nice, I'm kinda a NOOB.

I have the "standard" collapsible stock on my AR. It has a metal loop to pass the sling through. I'm used to using a shooting sling and could figure out how to attach it using the MOE stock.

Does that make sense?

Oh sure.

Do you see the slots cut into the MOE stock?  Two on the top where the buffer tube resides, one on the rear near the stock, and one on the angled portion?

Those are all spots that you can run your sling strap through.

You can also wrap the strap around (depends on the type of strap you have on your sling) around the entire rear of the stock including the buttpad, and you can mount a similar steel loop to the hole near the bottom of the stock where the angled portion meets the bottom of the butt pad.

Mine is mounted like this:

:-)

Yep, you can loop your sling through one of the many slots on the MOE stock, or you can get a sling adapter end plate.

+1 for sling adapter end plate, I'm using a Daniel Defense Carbine Burnsed loop (ambidextrous version)

There are different types of sling adapter end plates, mine is for direct sling loop attachment, there are others that are for HK/ MASH hooks, snap shackle, heavy duty push button swivel, etc.

Impact Weapons Components (IWC) also have a new QD rotation limited sling MOUNT-N-SLOT for the MOE buttstock.
