So I love my new Colt 6920 M4 carbine that I recently bought. Last weekend I had the chance to get the iron sights zeroed and shoot it for the first time. One weak point on the Colt M4 carbine is serious lack of rail space. So I want to add a simple 4 rail system at low cost so that I can attach a tactical light, bipod, and other key accessories. Looking for best way to go on a budget.

+1 on KAC rails, bought my last set off the EE for $40 shipped. That would be the cheapest route, but the DD rail are sweet

You seem to have the bug.  You might want to bypass a drop in and just free float it now.

I recommend anything but a keymod rail.

So, what about a DD M4A1 RIS II is "low cost?"  That rail is one of the most costly available for AR pattern rifles.  Maybe try and answer the OP's question instead of posting pics of your rifle that does not fit the OP's criteria?

OP, if you're looking for a low cost quad rail option, head over to the EE and pick up a KAC M4 RAS.  They can usually be found for $100-$150 and are high quality.

For folks on a budget we recommend the YHM rails they have several that are reasonable. I personally find the Larue Tactical well worth the $$ spent but they are the opposite of cheap/budget freindly

This is what i use.  Military uses these on the sopmod block 1, you might as well start building the block 1 youre already half way there.

Or you could go with Magpul  and just put the little rail sections where you want  them. It's light and versatile.

Midwest industries has a neat keymod drop in rail for your Colt at about $125.

This. Unless you need tons of rail space, Magpul MOE rail sections are a very lightweight & economical solution.

The newer SL gives badly needed length, and not at the expense of added weight(like a rail of some sort). All you 'need' is a light mounted. Otherwise, its prolly 70% lighter, MUCH more ergo, $35(yes, I know, it needs to cost more to be cool), Done.

My one other build with one. 16" LW.

Midwest Industries has an extended carbine "drop-in" FF rail, about $150 around here.
I'm thinking about getting one for my fixed front sight carbine, not so much for the space as to allow some different grip methods.

As others have said, get thee to the EE. I've picked up Knight's, Midwest, and YHM drop-ins at very good prices. Pick your poison.
Heck, a new Colt-compatible MI can be bought for around $125.
