First AR pistol, nothing fancy just a PSA 10.5” upper on a pistol lower I built.  Took it to the range this morning and it ran great.

Bright day and only shooting Tula .223 fir a shakedown cruise, so I didn’t notice any huge fireballs.

I’m looking forward to an evening shoot with some proper 5.56

8” 300blk. Pairing with a YHM Resonator. Should be a tight fit.

I’ll post more pictures once it shows up at the ffl next week. The yhm cans have a smaller outside diameter at the back of the can before it steps up to the full diameter. That smaller OD “should” fit inside the rail with clearance.

My take on an Mk18 inspired (pistol) build.
  • PSA 10.5" Premium CHF FN barreled upper with FSB
  • Toolcraft premium NiB BCG
  • Radian Raptor SD charging handle
  • H1 buffer
  • LMT fixed rear sight
  • SBA4 brace FDE
  • PSA Stripped M4A1 lower
  • UID sticker
  • CMMG Lower parts kit
  • Fostech Echo binary trigger with Trigger Depot tactical upgrade and M16 selectors
  • Holosun HS510C circle dot sight with 1/3 lower co-witness riser plate
  • Troy drop in quad rail with Ergo FDE ladder rail covers
  • BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 grip in FDE
  • BCM KAG in FDE
  • Surefire M600DF with SF DS-SR07 switch assembly
  • IWC Thorntail Offset Adaptive light mount
  • Blue Force VTAC padded sling
  • (To be added at a later date) Colt side sling swivel
I had originally planned to use a Troy Picatinny Modular Grip in FDE on the rail until the latest ATF ruling on measuring pistol OAL came out, thus the present KAG foregrip.  As the Troy was already ordered before the ruling, I plan on using it for an M4A1 clone at a later date unless I go the SBR route with this.

FWIW, I finally had the chance to try the Echo trigger at speed this past weekend.  My brother and I ran multiple 30 round mag dumps as fast as we could without a hiccup.  For practical use, I see the optimum use of a binary trigger as being double taps.  Full mag dumps are a waste of ammo... fun, I'll admit, but not practical without a lot of practice.

Pretty sure it’s a proprietary Noveske brace.

Sweet setup.  I need to get the FDE version of the SBA4 soon myself.  I have a similar plan in mind to what you built there.  Or the SBA4 will wind up being on a 9mm AR.  Dunno yet which one I'll do first. I'm not sure how the Echo triggers work out with a .22lr upper but my Franklin BFS3 and the .22lr uppers have worked out fantastically.  It's the only way I can afford to mag dump with it.  Binary triggers are fun when everything runs correctly.

That’s correct. I want the single chamber brake they teased with the Turbo K but it’s not out yet. Cut off one port and will probably do the other later.

ETA: My first 9mmAR I has an H3 buffer in it. Recoil with it is less than 5.56AR with the H3 in it. Also new to the Law Folder. Which is different yet range I went to the RSO didn't give a shit that I shouldered it. Were more interested in the upper than the lower. Did ask about my trigger which I said was Velocity trigger. RSO wanted to shoot it yet the range rules said he couldn't I offered and he said if he wasn't working hell yes yet working so couldn't.

Yes. So the Noveske is 300BO and it's way more comfortable to shoot. The brace they have is just better. The PDX is is pretty cool, but it't violent in every sense, from recoil to the massive fireball it shoots out. The stock on it just doesn't stack up to the Noveske.

Got my m4e1 done. I got the dtom lower matched with a regular 10.5 m4e1 upper. Got the brace and sparc kit from psa and finished it this morning. Really happy with it. I have a 3.5 lantac trigger on my full-size and In time I’ll be putting a lighter trigger in this guy but I wanna get some rounds through it first. Attachment Attached File

Thanks for the feedback.

From what they were saying at Shotshow about the Hatebreak helping cut down the flash signature, I was really interested in it for that aspect as well.  Sounds like it’s just their version of the Noveske Flaming Pig.  I was mostly wanting in a 300BO version anyway but the 7.62x39 did get my attention.

Damn, if it isn’t in an extremely small package but would probably be better off just building exactly what I want anyway.

I finally got to shoot my AR-9 today.  With a 4.5" barrel, PSA 9mm BCG, Wolff XP buffer spring, and 8oz KAK buffer, it is at least as smooth as my 10.5" 5.56 upper.  This is going to be a fun plinker for sure.

Made some modifications. KAC URX-4 10.75" Handguard and MAMS brake. Haven't fully installed the brake yet as I was having issues installing the gas system with this rail... taking it to my gunsmith tomorrow to finish that up. Can't wait to see how it shoots.
