US Anodizing's website now says they are backed up with orders and to call before sending in work.
I tried to call several times yesterday, but never got through. Figure I'll wait till things calm down and try one of these spray & bake finishes. I ordered a can of Brownells MATTE GRAY GUN-KOTE. Has anyone tried this finish? Hopefully, it will look like this.....

I tried some on a barrel a while back. I can try to take a picture when I get home if I have a few free seconds.

I just refinished some 20 round mags over the weekend in GunKote "Flat Gray." They came out great, and very close in color the the lower in your picture. I was sort-of testing it out before doing an upper/lower pair for a retro build. I used the kind in a 4 oz. pour can, and got some flat black to add to it to darken it if necessary, but after seeing how the mags came out I think the Flat Gray alone is just right. Now I'm ready to do that upper and lower and get my retro build into gear. Now if I can just find a barrel....

the M16A1 upper is anodized, as it arrived from gunny's.
I think it matches up pretty well. overall, I'm happy with the result. When I took them to the club to re-zero, another shooter walked over saw them on the table and said "Wow, two Colt's "

I just did my trigger guard and mag release button. They match up pretty well to the XM gray. Maybe just a little lighter in color.
