I'd love to see the live demonstration. Hopefully, you'll announce the time and place so the locals can come watch. Ben Avery maybe? Would love for you to bring it to Rio Salado one day. I'd love to video tape it with my crappy Youtube camera.

I've only been to a formal range once in my life, with my NRA class when I was a Boy Scout about 35 years ago ( it was at Ben Avery, I think it was called Black Canyon then though) I think she'll have her maiden voyage somewhere out in the desert, or up in the mountains depending on what time of year it is when she's done.

Agreed, nice machine, but the area in the video looks a bit "inhabited". Not so sure I'd be firing into a pond where someone could just walk over that low rise. "Don't try this at home kids" my65pan, you do exceptional work. Can't wait to see the finished product. |

Fixed That would be a challenge!
My homebrew thrust bearings for the yoke and elevation nut. I already had the sintered bronze bar stock so why spend money on fancy roller bearings, right?

I have this thread linked to my model steam engine thread in the DIY forum, figured I'd link this thread back to that one also for those that may be interested. The Gatling project has stalled until I can get some silver soldering done and afford barrel liners etc. In the mean time I started on this project, the brass for the cylinder is leftover stock from the mag base etc. on the Gatling and the flywheel was originally destined to be a breech plate for the same.
