Does anybody offer A1 style handguards in mid-length?  Or has anyone cut a set down?  If so; pics and tips?

NoDak Spud discontinued their Mid Length A1 hand guards.

Member Jhud is the only one I am aware of that makes A1 Mid lengths at this time.

jhud has made some sets that are cut down from the front, and the front section telescoped into the body and epoxied in place. When he gets done with them, they look like they were originally designed that way.

M1sniper has made some rear handguard collars a la' the 607 style for handguards cut down at the rear. properly done and the collar refinished, these are equally as nice.

I took some 2000 grit wet/dry sand paper to Jhuds HGs & they look pretty darn nice.
A lotta character in that set he sent me.

If someone can post pictures for me I'll snap a few.

Like he said Im not a finish guy. More like (spray) paint it black kind of guy.
My fat carbine set has been dropped and withstood numerous mag dumps.
Yes, I dropped my M16 at a gunshow. That is the cure to the 4 hour viagra boner

My only tip is wear a mask or respirator.

LMFAO...  My 603 clone came close to falling once.  There was some frantic running to make sure it didn't happen.

How much would you charge to cut down a set of hand-guards to mid-length like you did in those photos?

It was the weirdest thing when I discovered the NDS hand guards... just two days previously the thought had occurred to me how cool it would be if someone were to cut down an a1 guard to mid-length, but I dismissed the idea as totally impractical and not anything that anyone else would find attractive, figured it would be too hard to do myself also. So then just two days later I am looking up some random other thing, totally unrelated, I stumble across the NDS website, and there they are! The timing of it was just too strange. Now I'm just glad that I ordered mine when I did!

I could be wrong, but I vaguely remember seeing some for sale at a gun show.  Sherluk usually sets up, and I think it may have been them.  I don't see anything like that on their website, though.  You'll have to call and ask.

Same here...I wound up putting them off for later, since I needed only a 603 upper, lower, and a charging handle to build a complete A1...Bought the receivers instad!

The middy I want to put them on is still only a complete lower and stripped upper...It's been on the back burner.
