It looks like we have a new data point for establishing the value of the Sudanese AR10 bayonet.

I watched it languish on GB for over a year. I read the feedback that the buyer left. They said it's in better condition than the pics indicated.

The great thing about the Sudanese AR10 bayonet ts is that almost all of them are unissued, so condition does not tend to vary much.  On the other hand, those pesky bayonet collectors gobbled them up years ago.

Here is another datapoint:
Armslist: Sudan bayo sells for $400

The deal was done because I know the guy that bought it.

I went to 575 a few years back .  So I wouldn't say it's out of line.

I agree. I think I paid in the $500 range over 10 years ago and I thought that was a pretty good deal. I expect they'll be getting more like a grand very soon. When they turn up, that is.

Back in the 80s I got my first port bayonet  for 5 or 6 kabobs plus bottle of local hooch . It was on the Niger River delta working for royal dutch shell.... still have it along with some memories... they ain't so great... But alas we  move on...

For the WW2 material collectors this is whay they in the business call a fake as it is a post war copy on the WW2 German Seitengewehr 42 (SG-42) Tool Bayonet, but there are other fake ones, one is the black handle one,so a original one for a AR-10 is also a fake.

Seitengewehr 42

AR-10 (fake SG-42)

Fake one with black handle

This one is a clear copy to be used with German equipment so it as the same size but as the AR-10 one was made to be used with the AR-10  i dont know if they have the same size so if of a diferent size the one for the AR-10 may only be considered a copy of the SG-42 as to a fake as it was copied for a diferent weapon.
