Danm thats much smaller. Now I don't know if I should try one or not. Not sure how it would look with the MOE handguard as the AFG1 follows the lines of the MOE pretty well. Any chance you will exchange the AFG1 I just got from you guys a couple of weeks ago for an AFG2? ;)

pics always help, thank you

This one looks like I may be able to shorten it to fit a Lage upper.  I like the rigidity of the angle, maybe it would help with the bolt weight release.  Always thought Lage angled his grip the wrong way.

I got my little finger momentarily stuck in the triangular area and that was not cool.

I like the looks of the AFG, but I currently have my flashlight mounted in that area with a combination VFG/light holder from CAA.  Does any one have any suggestions on mounting options for lights to use along with the AFG?  I want to have the light easy to access by either hand and I do not like the pressure switches a lot.  Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have my AFG on my rifle and I run a Viking Tactics flashlight mount on top of my rail on the port side so all I do is move my thumb over the top and activate the light and it's GTG.  Easy smooth trasnsition.

Search "gear sector" (be sure to select "last 30 days") and you will find a forum filled with Gear Sector product pictures.  They make a very nice flashlight mount that will set your FL right where you need it for your AFG.

Got it, like it a lot. Helps my small hands on the MOE.

I'm planning on taking the size reduction a bit further and doing a mod so it's mounted directly to the MOE - without the Pic rail in-between adding another quarter-inch of size. This should let me put the pressure switch for the (PA) light at 10:00 and the laser switch at 4:00, and have my thumb and forefinger right on them in a natural position.

Any chances anyone has a picture of one of these on a carbine length?

I've found the Daniel Defense Omega X to be a great rail for adding additional light mounting options with the AFG.  You can go 12 in front of the A2 or the 3 or 9 position.  I'm right handed and chose to run my surefire at 3 on a VLTOR CK.  I'm using a cheapo pressure switch located at 12 which works great on both strong and support sides (I'm saving up for a better light and combo switch).  Since you don't care for pressure switches, I've seen Surefire X300s mounted with AFGs with good results.

How long of a rail section would i need to slap this on a moe handguard?

I use the AFG on a carbine length MOE with the IWC light mount. The way I have it where is extends off the front of the handguard I run a 9 slot MOE rail. If you have it back further you can use an 11 slot. The 11 slot rail is the exact length og the AFG2.
