I know you said that it would work good on shotguns but do you have any ideas on what kind of recoil it can take?  I kinda want to put one on my Moss. 500 12 gauge..

I like it! Two questions:

1.) Has anyone run it through any torture testing? I know your larger models are GTG, but smaller optics in general make me a little nervous.

2.) How is the cowitness on ARs and AKs?

+1 more.

I keep asking you guys about 12-ga. recoil on your red dot sights. My Benelli absolutely needs a red dot. Still waiting ...

Are you saying they're not durable enough for use on a rifle as a primary optic? Will they fit a LaRue irondot housing?

I am not saying that. I meant most people use them for a seconary optic to a scope like a LaRue LT635.  I should fit in the irodot nousing. I will orer one for photos.

Thanks

Marshall

Awesome! can't wait to see them!

I must be the invisible would-be customer!

You know guys, I don't just own a Benelli; I've got other things too. If it doesn't work on 12-ga., just say so. I'll still do business with an honest and forthwright company; but if you are going to address every other question and continue to ignore anybody who is asking if it can handle a certain job ... Well, I don't send my money to companies that would rather avoid answering a simple question than be honest.

Thanks Marshall. I figured you guys just didn't know; but I'd much rather that you guys say that up front than ignore me. I'd be more than happy to puchase one to find out. (At that price point, its sort of worth taking the risk.) I'll send you a PM.

If it's anything like their microdots it should hold up to 12g. I've put about 100 rounds of slugs on my mossberg with the microdot without any issue and it has held zero thus far.

Hi Marshall,

I'm looking for a sight for the below shotgun (Saiga 12 with rail). It's got a rail and was wondering if the window on this dot/mount mounts lower than your Gen7 red dot?

Thanks,

Jake

Don't think any optics do. The adjustment screws push on the tube, moving the reticle's position.

Maybe the MARS does? An optic would have to be entirely digital for something like that to happen.

The two ARs I would consider this for have FSBs

I'm VERY interested in trying this on my PS90, on a LaRue mount if possible.  Do you know which of the currently available mounts it would fit on?  All I see available is LT624, LT625, and LT628, listed as being for J-Point and Pride Fowler.

Is there an on/off switch for the sight? If so, where is it located?

I have a very similar sight already (Burris fastfire) and like it a lot, but the on/off switch is tiny, located on the side of the sight and in a little channel.  It is very hard to locate and operate.  No way I can find it and turn it on in the dark.

Pretty sure I read on the Industry forum concerning these that removing and replacing the cover turned it on and off.

Correct. When the photo cell is covered with the provided cap or it is in the dark it cuts off.

Marshall

So no good for night use?

No it works it just sences the amount of ambient light. The darker it is out the darker the reticule gets so it does not bloom.

Are you speculating or have you used one in the dark?  Sure seams like it would be no good in pitch black conditions.  See comment from Marshall in red above.

I assume it works just like the original optima 2000 sights.  If there is enough light to see what  you are shooting at, you will be able to see a dot.  At least that how my optimas work.

A quick review. Ordered on Monday Express delivery after calling and having all my questions answered by someone who was polite and knew what they were talking about. The sight arrived today along with the Yankee Hill 45degree offset mount.
The reason for mounting this on my ar is 3gun competition. I run iron sight division which just had a rule change. Now you can run one or any combo of iron sights and a red dot as long as it's not magnified. one set of irons and one red dot and your in iron sight division. Seems fair. Left work and headed to the range. After zeroing I played some up close and wow. I'm fast with a rifle but this thing turns up the CQB speed alot. So I've got a major match this weekend to test it at with very little practice. The Micro dot is set for 20yrds and is to the side of my irons in the offset mount. I'll let you know how this runs on Monday so far it looks real promising.
