Looks interesing, but the proprietary barrel nut is a fail for those of us who have 14.5" uppers with perm attached muzzle devices.

I've never understood this outlook.  The fail is you're improper rail selection prior to perm. attaching your muzzle device.  Besides Adco can remove you're muzzle device and install another if you really have to have this rail.

All of the proprietary barrel nuts exist for a reason.  Attaching a FF rail to a stock barrel isn't the best idea and that's why there's only a limited number of rails that attach to a stock barrel nut.  The Midwest Indestries 2-pc quad rail is one of them and it's one of the few with a solid mount up design.

Major fail I see is no integral QD sling studs.  Especially with not having the ability to mount any QD studs aft of the small rail section on the front.

ETA:  Use spellcheck!

They make Quick Disconnect sing mounts for $10 you can mount on the picatinny rail. Also you can drill and tap a 10/24 threaded hole and install the sling stud mount yourself. They did the hard work and made a very cool product.

I've been using the Troy Alpha FF 15" and Nordic Comp. 15" FF round hand guards. I've had to add picatinny pieces on one and the 10/32 sling nut on the other. Thinking of going with something "NOT ROUND" just to mix it up. I have a few lowers and more uppers to interchange but all of the hand guards depend on there purpose of use. 223 Wylde 3 gun, 6.5 Grendel bench shooting from bi-pod and hunting in the woods. This hand guard will fit the in the woods use for my 50 Beowulf. Very heavy gun and needs the durability when climbing across rocks and up in trees. Not tho on table and looking all perty, Rough and tough for the terrain....

I received mine the other day, and I'm impressed with the quality of the machining, they are very well made and light for a 12" handguard.  I won't be putting it together anytime soon though, I'm going to be cerakoting the handguard, and both receivers, so it may be a while before everything is done.  The sling swivel stuff that some of the guys are bitching about is a mute point with me, and even if I used that type of sling connector, I'd get over it.  This is a very good quality product.

I have used this Rail and its outstanding, Very light weight and extremely ergonomic, If you use the hand forward style of shooting the slanted ends of the rail are very user friendly and rail it's self is very small in diameter which I am a huge fan of. The propriotary barrel nut sits lower than the gas tube so you don't have to worry about whether or not it will touch the gas tube. The 2 screw system used to secure the rail to the nut is nice because of the Steel plate they screw into can be switched out if it were to ever be over tightened and stripped out, without having to worry about ruining the rail permanently. It's a tuff minimalistic rail that looks great I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique looking, work horse rail for their AR.

Off topic, but who makes the QD brake on the rifle in the OP? looks like a hybrid between a YHM and PWS, would look extra sweet in a a.308 flavour

The muzzle break is a PWS w/ YHM mount.  Its been out of production for about 3 years now.  They are awesome, I have 3.

I received mine about 3 weeks back, and just got it back from the finisher yesterday.  I'm really digging this handguard, it's good to go, and very well built.

Sorry about the crappy picture, but I aint going to invest much effort in taking pictures.

If enough people ask for it we will consider.

13.5" or 14" 's are coming once our extrusion order shows up.

Todd, will these be in keymod model as well?  Any ETA on when they will be on the site?  I have a cart ready to checkout once the new DA-7's are posted and would LOVE to add a 14" keymod HG to it, actually, I NEED to add one .

Thanks in advance.
