$130?  No thanks.

2 40-rounders work just as well for <25% of the price.

I will wait and see if these come down before I buy.  I agree the 40 rounders are better for the price

I would bet they're waiting to see if they pick up a government contract for it.

Any chance ya'll will do a .308 version?  Currently all that's available is the X-products 50rd drum.

This. With the price of 30 and 40 rd magpul mags I wouldn't pay more than $60 for one of these.

[#10]
I think $130 for a reliable 60 round drum is a good deal. The competition is far more expensive.

Comparing the drum to the 40 in price isn't exactly fair being they are totally different products but if you're going to, it's worth noting the Magpul drum has a couple significant advantages to the 40 rounders. A) it holds 50% more ammo and B) it extends out of the rifle MUCH less. Those are both worth something and can only be achieved by using a drum magazine which cost much more to produce.

The D-60 isn't going to replace every 20, 30 and 40 rounder in your stock but would make a great "in rifle" magazine if it proves to be as reliable as standard mags.

Do you remember the price of Beta-C mags in 04-05 when the AWB expired?

$130 isn't too bad.

If I had a spare $130 to spend on one mag then I'd buy one just to piss off Feinstein and company.
But as far as practicality, it doesn't really do anything better (or more reliably) than what a pair of 30's can do.

This. I don't 'need' any, but yesterday I decided to go ahead & order one simply because I've publicly griped so much about the delays that it only seemed fair to buy one now.

Much to my surprise (and it maybe shouldn't have been..), still can't actually order them from the website.

MP says on their web site that they are shipping to dealers and distributors, so don't get your panties in a bunch just yet over price.  I see MP stuff pretty steeply discounted from some dealers all the time so by the time these things hit the retail dealers they are apt to be substantially less than the $130 MSRP.  THEN we can talk price.

I have enough drum magazines for 5.56.  I've never had a problem with my Beta-C mags so I sure don't need another, but if this one held .458 SOCOM I'd be all over it like a duck on a June bug for no other reason than 'just because.'  However, from the looks of it and the narrow coils I highly doubt it will take anything bigger than 5.56, so it is a non-starter for me too, but for totally different reasons than price.
And before someone mentions the MWG mag, I don't care a lick for them.

Just went to the Magpul website and ordered one.

Not sure how important it will be in my tactical toolkit, but for sure I can envision wanting one and being forbidden from owning it.
My big focus these days is items that might be restricted in the future, but that are available now.
This qualifies.

You bought one off of Magpuls website? It says they're shipping to distributors but I don't see any option to buy directly from their site?

EDIT...nevermind, I see the post above yours now.

Just curious if anyone has received their D-60 mag yet? I ordered on Monday and haven't received an email order confirmation or tracking number. I think they use USPS Priority so I figured some of you may have received your drums by now.

I can't remember where I saw them but somebody had them for $104.00. I was thinking about getting a Beta mag., but I could get 2 1/2 of the Magpuls instead. I really don't see a need for me getting them but that is half the reason to get one, because you can.

I'll definitely look into getting one after the rush dies down a bit.

I don't pre-order, so it'll be when I have the spare cash and someone has one in stock.

The Magpul PMag D-60 is in stock again at Magpul.com for anyone interested.  I think they are releasing small batches at a time on their website.  They were available yesterday (11/27/15) until selling out.  Now they're available again tonight (11/28/15).  $129.95 and free shipping via Fed Ex.

I think for most users, the 40s have rendered these irrelevant, similar to what the 40s did to all the stupidly high priced +5 kits from places like Taran Tactical and Firebird.

These back in stock yet? I've been band wagoning ever since I've seen these introduced at shot and have been patiently waiting ever since.

They hold more and aren't as long as the 40 round mags. If they prove to be reliable I'll use one as my main go-to mag in my HD rifle.

60 rounds: because overkill is best kill.

I use 40's off a bipod quite a bit. Bipod has to be on the tall side though.

It would be nice to have 10 or so of these 60's.

What about mag pouches? Or are you thinking one in the gun, the rest 30s/40s?

I just want to do a bump gun barrel burnout test to see how many rounds down range before I toast a barrel/gas tube/gas block.

I pre-ordered a D-60 back on Valentine's Day and have been anxiously waiting for them to be released. Waiting sucks but I'm very glad that Magpul took whatever time was needed to make sure they are as good as they can be. I'd be extremely disappointed if I finally got my hands on one only to find out it's not reliable enough to be used for anything serious and is nothing more than a range toy.

I called up DSG this morning to update my payment info since I wasn't sure if the card I used back then was still active. I was told they had one marked for my order and it should be going out today. I can't wait to get it to the range and do at least one very long mag dump. Now I have to endure the long wait for my prized mag to make its journey from Ft Worth Texas across the seas to my humble abode in the Vatican City.

I will buy one or two of these.

Make a 120-200 round big brother to this, and I will max out a credit card.

Yes, I know it isn't practical. I. Do. Not. Care.

Big enough to hold 200 rounds, which is all I care about.

12lbs for a magazine is perfectly fine...
