The most distinctive thing about the H6 is that it is supposed to use six, rather than three reciprocating weights.
https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&tab=core&id=db60ef5f99161a44b4accbfa719ee654&_cview=1 It would appear that the government expects to pay about $25 each, per H6 buffer (maximum 20,000 units for a maximum $500,000 increase to final contract value). http://damageindustriesllc.com/product/buffer-recoil-carbine-h6 http://damageindustriesllc.com/product/h6-buffer-upgrade-kit The Canadians used the H2 or "HH" buffer in their C7A2s, and some M16A2s have been seen using the sliding buttstock assembly and H2 buffers as well. ~Augee |

The only time I ever saw the A2 20" upper with collapsable stock was in basic and only a few had them. Was a few years back but I think they had H2 buffers in them, not H6.

View Quote If you read that solicitation I posted (not that I'm saying that anyone was required to read it - just pointing out for everyone's SA ) - it notes that the H6 buffer was a contract amendment to the original contract for the sliding buttstock assembly. It points out that the dollar amount of the contract amendment is low enough that it did not require an open competition for an "improved buffer," which doubtless would have cost hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars more... It also notes that the H6, at least at the time (2009) was only approved for use with M16A2 uppers - and had not been tested with the M4/M4A1, and was not to be used as a replacement until further testing was conducted (I have not been able to find out whether or not such testing has been conducted - though I would assume it's likely become redundant with the adoption service-wide of the M4A1/RO921HB with the H2 buffer). Earlier conversions appear to have been done with the H2 buffer. ~Augee |

did some googlin' about the BOPE featured in the above pics, found a video of them doing maneuvers in preparation for the 2014 World Cup. Some decent close shots of their A2 carbines. Most of them appear to be running EOs on their carry handle, hell most look like they have 2 pos receiver extentions (most carbines appear fully open or closed positions)
One is shown close up with "Colt's MFG Co. Inc" roll marked on the left side with what looks like a S-1-F FCG. Some rifles appear to have A2 lower reinforcements. |

On my last deployment I routinely had a 20rd magazine in my rifle and 30rd magazines in my vest pouches while on mission. |

It is a Bulgarian (circle 10) AK that was bought for equipping the Iraqis. We gave some to our own contracted security force that we vetted, trained and used (not a QRF). Didn't know that about the barrels, but can't confirm as I had that gun in 05-06'. CD |
