My previously posted, dedicated 22rf 10.3"-equivalent SBR in Burnt Bronze and a dedicated 22rf 10.5"-equivalent SBR in black I finished yesterday.

John Thomas @ R.A.W. did the barrel shortening, re-threading and re-crowning on both barrels. As usual, his work was stellar, and his turn-around times were amazing.

Nice!!! 9.5” FBI clone and 4.5” micro on deck . . .

Optic suggestions? I want magnification for small targets but there is not much eye relief here. These are nose to charging handle for sure. ACOG time? 22lr reticle? LOL!

Meh, it's only money. There's over $2K in the AR-22 pistol build with which I'm familiar; it adds up fast!

Tippmann Arms with some mods. It’s also set up for thermal, hence the riser and NODs with an IR light and Viridian IR laser. (On sale for $106, and it seems to work well and hold zero.)

Finally got around to sighting in my .22 build

Sighted it in at 25, then moved to 50 yards.

That will do

That feeling when you chop down a rail and it later gets discontinued and becomes valuable

Pretty happy with this setup, only future change would be a better red dot and SBR the thing.

LMT lower
Sig folding brace arm
Custom designed 3D printed brace
Boonie Packer Better-Mag for LRBHO
S&W M&P15-22 mags
KAC URX 3 8.0 cut down to 6"
CMMG BCG and 4.5" barrel
Rugged Occulus

The Better-Mag works perfectly with M&P15-22 mags and engages the factory LRBHO on the lower. The 4.5" barrel is perfect for keeping bulk pack subsonic. Honestly a perfect little range blaster for a sunny day and plinking steel quietly.

Yes. RTB pencil. It's surprisingly good. A buddy of mine earned his Appleseed Marksman patch with it.

Should have tagged me. I don't check this side regularly.
Hell yeah, looks great.

Same here, slacking on the 22lr builds. They are pretty slick when you get them buttoned up.
You just here the action with standard velocity Cci lol.

I suggest trying out the HRF Concepts extended magwell to help with the awkwardness of inserting the M&P 15-22 mags.

My 22LR precision AR trainer built for running in NRL22 matches and such. Dedicated 16 inch heavy 22LR barrel by Keystone Accuracy is a one piece design with no collar that uses a slightly modified CMMG bolt and shoots great, ragged holes at 50 yards and holding just about an inch at 100 under ideal conditions with Lapua Center-X and SK Match. No problems using a TriggerTech Diamond. Everything about it is great except when shooting suppressed it'll get so fouled up that it won't cycle after about 80ish rounds. Because of that I'm probably going to stick with a bolt gun for those matches and end up lightning this up a bit and rebuilding it as a sort of general purpose plinker/trainer.

Here’s mine.  CMMG 17” medium profile barrel and magazine.  RTB slick side, small port upper and bolt.  Geissele handguard.  I already had the lower and scope.  Been shooting Thunderbolts out of it with no issues.

Attachment Attached File

Update:  After shooting it for a bit I found the CMMG barrel was horribly inaccurate.  I ended up swapping it out for a Beyers barrel and it shoots 5/8” at 50 yards now with CCI Mini Mags.  I also converted it to use S&W 15-22 mags by installing the Redi Mag adaptor.  I have a 1-6 Primary arms LPVO at this time.

Here are a pair of dedicated 22rf uppers using 22rf, M4, 16" barrels that John Thomas (R.A.W.) cut to equivalent 10.3" length. He did a beautiful job on the barrels.

Surefire Mini mounted just for photos. My Geissele Mk4 rail is the previous gen 9.5" length. It seems the current version Mk4 is 9.3" long.

I love my 15-22 as it's so reliable. I won my class in a match with it just last Saturday but I am aware it's a tad bendy, putting distance shots at risk.

I'm looking to build an all metal dedicated .22lr AR. Am I right in thinking that those based on the CMMG bolt group are favourite (not the conversion kit)?

Thanks. Most UK builders seem to base around the CMMG bolt group with Smith magazines via the adapter. We can also get the CMMG factory .22's here...

I went there. CMMG Mk 4, dedicated .22LR, stainless steel bolt group, with go faster bits......

I still have to install a bolt weight, anti-jam insert in the charging handle and a titanium firing pin, but they are all easy fit parts. I will probably swap out the grip for an FDE one, just because, but I was out shooting it today and I am very pleased.
